If you read the first post on the Valentine's Day
tip of "putting a ring on it"--then you must read
Pt. 2.
Here's part 2 of buying an engagement ring, as promised...
a) Know How To Rock-
Simply put, know what you're buying, beforehand.
You can go online and try to find out about stones and
cuts. but then what?
For a diamond, avoid any color grade below H (too yellow)
or any cut grade below Very Good (not enough sparkle), 
You may want to choose a better cut and a clearer color over more|
carats, but if your lady is expecting a big rock, your choice is already
made for you.
b) Look Beyond The Usual-
And go for something unusual. If you're girlfriend is a
"outside the box" type of girl- then look for black diamonds,
or yellow diamonds, or even look for an emerald or a sapphire
as the center or accent stone.
Or if your lady is the "artsy" "hippie" or "organic" type- 
try something that's architectural or get her multiple rings,
in a style called "stacking."
Or try something "Vintage" if your girlfriend is
a big fan of the quirky star, Zooey Deschanel, look for a ring that
fits Zooey style. Where do you find a ring like that?

c) Get It Designed Yourself-
Where do go to have something unusual and quirky
specially made? Go online to Google.com and look for the
jewelry designer known as Nora Kogan. She works somewhere
in Brooklyn N.Y.

Guys-Valentine's day has come and gone, and we have just one
question: Have you put a ring on it?
You know the song from Beyonce- if you really care and love her, 
then you need to put a ring on it.

But hold on, not so fast, a lot of guys don't know where to go, or what
type of ring to buy. Yes, you can go to Google, but you'll only learn about stones.
or you can ask your friends, but they'll only hook you up with someone who can give you
a great deal, but you want some real knowledge about price, stones, etc. and that's
where we come in, look below and find some great tips for finding that special ring.
a) The Recession is Here-
In a time gone by, the advice given to guys-"have about 2 to 4 months salary on hand."
but not today, there's still a recession hanging around, so deal with reality.
Count on 4 to 6 wks. of your paycheck. And if you really want that "perfect"
ring, save for 7 or 8 wks.
b) Be Like A BoyScout-
Simply put, be prepared. Before traveling to the jeweler, head to her jewelry box
and take one of her rings, why?
The jeweler can help you determine the right sizeof the ring you want.
Also important: Take a few cellphone shots of rings she liked while
you two visited the jeweler.
c) Ask Some Questions-
Talk to her mom or best girlfriend, and ask them to tell you about specifics.
Color, band style, karat count, etc. And then swear them to secrecy.
d) Watch The Matching Styles-
Some women want their wedding band to match the engagement ring,
so if this is your girlfriend, be warned guys, your wedding and engagement
ring may have a rose-gold band.
