The Television Rx For Helping Kids Learn!

                           More T.V. For Better Grades!

Are you the type that wants your kids to watch less T.V.?
Or are you the type that says your grades will suffer as a result
of watching T.V.?

Well, The suits who run Hollywood don't really care one way or the
other, they just want you and your kids watching more of it
and if you're the type who is worried about their grades suffering,
you can do this.
What is it?
Turn on the Close- Captioning.

Yes, you're reading it right, reading to kids was and will always be
a staple in a lot of homes, but new research says that turning on
the close-- captioning is equal to pureeing vegetables and sneaking
them into your kids' diet.
This is a great way to get kids to learn while watching T.V. and one more
thing...Kids don't even have to read along to benefit. Seeing the written words
on the screen subconsciously foster's a more positive attitude toward reading.
So, next time The Wiggles come on, turn off the sound and let your
kids read and sing along.

Good Luck!

Hollywood's Summer Safety Tips For Kids!

                           A Super Summer For Kids!

Moms, don't you wish you could have a nanny or two, a personal chef,
a driver, and an assistant for the Summer?
You know, to help look after your kids, cook them nutritious meals

and drive them to and fro?

Well, it's not a reality for most people, and the Summer time can be especially
difficult. A brush with poison ivy, a serious sunburn or too many mosquito bites
can make the Summer season much more difficult.
But luckily, there's some help, and you don't have to pay for it.

Say what?
That's right- PBS, the government funded station you (the taxpayers) pay for
has created a site, a site that'll help any mom or dad make it through this
Summer. The site will help you if your kid stumbles into poison ivy or oak,
gets a sting that may swell or looks like the "Tanning Mom after a few hrs. outdoors.

So, if you're a mom (or dad) who needs help this Summer dealing with one or five
kids, then you must visit this site.
The Site: www.PBS.org/parents/Summersafetytipsfor kids.
Or go to Google and type in PBS and Summer safety tips for kids.

That's it- and remember to make it a safe and memorable Summer.

Good Luck!

Hollywood's Rx For Feeding Finicky Kids!

                             Feed Your Finicky Kids!

Getting kids to eat vegetables is a problem all over the
World and the wealthy and famous moms in Hollywood
are no exception. In fact, actress Jessica Alba told Katie
Couric that she cooks a few foods and places it on the
table and if the kids don't want to eat the foods, too bad.
That may seem a little harsh, but a lot of moms don't want to
spend hrs. in the kitchen cooking a lot of different dishes.

If you're having this problem, use this tip...
Come up with an appealing adjective to describe that bowl
of carrots. Say something like, eat your "X-ray" carrots,
they'll help you see better than Superman.
The more  special and interesting a food sounds
to your kids, the more likely they'll eat it.
So, are you ready to try this?

If so, here are a few foods to get you started.
Instead of
Broccoli- Call em Mighty Brocco-Trees
Hard-boiled eggs- Call em  Dinosaur eggs
Peas- Call em  Princess Peas
Cherry Tomatoes-Call em Tomato Bursts
Asparagus-Call em  Unicorn Horns
Chopped Romaine Lettuce or Kale- Call em Make you strong green drops

That's it- Helping your kids to eat their vegetables.

Good Luck!
