A Sitcom's Rx For A Longer Life!

The Office Rx To Help You Live Longer!

Are you a fan of the sitcom-"The Office?"
It's been off the air for a few yrs. now-but you can still catch the reruns.
If you're really a fan, then you may remember the water cooler.

Like most offices, there always seems to be a water cooler.
And if you work in a place that has a water cooler, you may want to
stop there and chat a few times a day.

Why?
It may help you live longer.

Say what? That's right, according to new research, stopping by the water
cooler and chatting about your kids,  your aging parents or other subjects
can help you live a little longer.
The researchers say that talking things out (whether at work, bingo
or church) eases your physical and mental load helping to improve your own health.
If you are one to chat at the water cooler or at church, the researchers say to

keep the conversations upbeat and positive. Talking about a coworker's affair,
or someone's misfortune, may actually shorten your own life.
Simply put, don't use that time tearing others down.

That's it- a great lesson learned from Steve Carell and company.
And if you want info on living till 90 or 100, go to

The Office's Rx For Getting Hired!

                        Simple Solutions To Getting Hired!

In less than a month the last episode of the T.V. show-"The Office"
will air, after that-you'll only be able to see it in reruns.
If you're looking for a job in an Office, here are some things to do
if you want to ace your interview.
1) Turn Off Your Phone-

This is the time you really don't want to be interrupted with a
phone call, so leave it in the car.
2) Watch Your Nails-
Believe it or not the interviewer notices your nails.

So no long and gaudy nails.
3) Perfume Overload-
It's a big complaint from co-workers, (too much perfume)
and it's a big no-no for those who are looking for jobs.
Use just a little or shower very well beforehand.
Another no-no...smelling like you've just had 1/2 pack of cigarettes.
4) Makeup-
Makeup like perfume shouldn't be overdone.
Keep it minimal and natural.  And check your eye makeup before
going into the interview. No smudged raccoon looks.
5) Check Your Online Profiles-
Check to make sure you don't have any pictures of you and friends
holding beers, or parading around in a barely-there bikini on Spring
Break. Some employers are now Googling you as soon as you leave.
6) Watch Your Hair-
Wear your hair down? That's okay-but don't twirl it, flip it or play with it
(like the Kardashians), Playing with hair can be very distracting and cost
you a job. And if you wear a bun, make sure it's not messy.
7) Watch Your Mouth-
Do you use Amazing, awesome, totally, like or you know a lot?
Then you have to
stop it.
Do your best, (speaking wise) or you could be out of a job.
Some employers enjoy a sense of humor, but don't break it out
until you know what he or she likes.
8) Shoes-
Invest in a good pair of shoes, wear flip flops to the job
and you'll be walking right back to your car or the bus.

That's it- 8 tips to help the upcoming college graduate
or the mom or dad who've been looking for a job in an Office
or at the Amusement park.

Good Luck!
