Live Longer Rxs Just For Men!

                   Guys- Live Longer Like Women!

Guys, whenever the words youth-boosting or
anti-aging are mentioned, you're left out.
It seems the anti-aging experts only think women
are concerned about getting or looking older.

But, that's not true, according to insiders, George
Clooney calls Brad Pitt and asks his advice on ways to
turn back the clock.
Well, if your name is Mr. Clooney or Mr. Smith, you

may want to take a page out of the book of some past stars.
Past stars like Bob Hope, George Burns, Dennis Weaver and
Ernest Borgnine.

What was their secret?
They all gave up a food that many men may not be able to give up.
The food: Meat. It's rumored, George Clooney loves steaks,
hamburgers and hot dogs.

The former stars all  became vegetarians and all lived past 90,
all except Dennis Weaver, who passed away at age 88.

Researchers say men may benefit from a vegetarian diet, more

so than women. Why?
They think it's the blood.  Mix iron-rich meats with blood and
you're asking for trouble.
The researchers say that since women menstruate starting in their
teens right up until their late 40's to early 50's, they don't have
that blood circulating in their arteries like men, giving them 5 or more
extra years of life.
And if the men smoke, drink, eat sweets, rarely or never exercise,
the blood in their system is really toxic.

So, how can men overcome this and get the extra 5 to 8 yrs of extra life

like women? Give up meat, (or eat it on rare occasions) or eat a cleaner
diet, have lean red meat, salad, and some steamed vegetables,  exercise,
have a beer or a glass of wine ( no more than 1 drink per evening)
or skip these things and become a regular blood donor.
Yup, get that blood out, donate once a month or twice a month and guys
you may be able to make it to age 85, 90 or beyond.

That's it- And in the next few days, we'll tell you how two former
stars of "The Mary
Tyler Moore Show"are still living productive lives
at 88 and 92.

And you'll also learn how one still busy movie star and director
 just celebrated his 84th birthday.

Good Luck!

The NBC Nightly News Food Rx To Boost Your Looks!

Eat This To Improve Your Looks!

Did you catch the NBC nightly news segment on Nuts?

They talked about the benefits of eating a few nuts each
day to improve heart health, prevent memory loss
and even lower certain cancers.
But what the news anchor forgot to mention is that
some nuts can improve your looks.
That's right- one nut in particular, that's reasonably
priced and puts the fear in a lot of moms (with school-aged
kids) and it can actually help you slow the aging process.

What nut is that?
Peanuts!

Peanuts can slow down the cellular damage that leads to
premature wrinkling and aging.
How?

Give credit to Resveratrol, a age-defying flavonoid in peanuts,
(you can also find it in Red wine) and it's responsible for helping
you look more youthful.
Plus, the reseveratrol can also improve blood flow throughout
you body, and that means better looking skin and a
reduced chance of getting a stroke.
So, if you've been having potato chips, pretzels
or buttered popcorn while watching the Lifetime channel
or repeats of Will and Grace, you may have to rethink that and
start eating peanuts.

And if you want more news on how nuts can help you get
rid of Winter dandruff or whittle your waist, head to our
main blog...SupermarketRxs@typepad.com. for all of the info.

Don't forget- If you're trying to stay out of the doctor's office or Emergency room this Winter season, don't spend money you don't have, instead buy an E-document. It's called The World's Best Secrets To Never Getting Sick!
Available at Amazon.com/the kindle store.

Paula Deen's Side Dish Rx For Better Health!

                                 Paula Deen's Favorite Vegetable!

Paula Deen is on a quest, a quest to get healthy.
If you seen Ms. Deen lately you're well aware of her 35 lb.

weight loss. One of the foods that Ms. Deen loves to cook and eat are
sweet potatoes, and if you too, like the orange tubers, you're in luck.

Look below for some of the benefits of the sweet potato and then,
copy the recipe for a sweet potato casserole, made by the incomparable
Paula Deen.
The benefits of sweet potatoes:
a) Sidestep Heart Attacks-
S. P's are loaded with antioxidants that lower your risk of heart attacks
by a whopping 55%. Perhaps someone can pass this tip onto Rosie O'Donnell.
Important tip: make sure to leave out all the sugar, eggs, milk and the pie crust,

or they (S. P's) won't work.
b) Beautiful Skin-
For many women, a trip to get Botox or spending hundreds on creams and
potions and you still look the same. What may work and won't cost a small fortune?
Sweet potatotes and other foods that contain vitamin A. Vitamin A is rarely mentioned,

but it's the missing link for those seeking more youthful and supple skin.
Other Vit. A rich foods...Butternut squash, pumpkin, carrots, acorn squash and yams.
c) Boost Energy-
Thanks to the amino acids and minerals in sweet potatoes, they help boost energy
and moods.

Now you know some healthful benefits of the sweet potato, here's
a recipe from Paula Deen, eat it this Thanksgiving or for a non-special
occasion like the 10th of December.

Paula Deen's Sweet Potato (or Yam) Casserole!

3 to 4 medium sweet potatoes or yams, they should be about

3/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 tsp. dried thyme
1 cup crushed saltine crackers, about 20
2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees, Coat a 13 X 9 baking dish with some

oil or coat with cooking spray.
Next, whisk the heavy cream and toss in the cayenne pepper.
