Drink That Lemonade!
We're still not sure of the Beyonce-inspired lemonade campaign,
but we are sure that if weight loss or weight maintenance is a concern
this Summer, you must incorporate more citrus into your meals
and especially your drinks.
That's right- forgo the pina coladas and margaritas this Summer season
and have mocktails?
What are those?
Non-alcoholic drinks.
And why must you use more lemon and limes this Summer?
Because it (citrus) helps you fight stubborn fat 3 ways...
* It switches on good genes responsible for burning
excessive fat.
* It boost liver function- Increase liver's ability to expel
more toxins, toxins that may cause that weight gain in the 1st place.
* Stabilize Blood Sugar Levels-
Avoid the rapid sugar highs and lows with citrus, doing so makes it
easier to lose and manage weight, plus, steady blood sugar levels
means lower odds of becoming a diabetic.
So, are you ready to take on the lemonade (and limeade) challenge?
If so, here's a mocktail to get you started...
It's called The Lemon-Lime Refresher Mocktail!
Ingredients:
2 slices lemon
2 slices lime
clean the peels thoroughly, as you will be using them.
1 sprig of mint
1 Tbs. lemon juice
1 Tbs. lime juice
1 cup of cold water
1 Tbs. raw honey or real maple syrup, Optional.
Directions:
Chill a glass for 30 to 60 mins. before starting.
And in a large bowl, muddle the first 3 ingredients.
To muddle-
Mash down with a wooden spoon, this releases oils
from the citrus and mint and makes the drink taste better.
Add these ingredients to the chilled glass, add the lemon and lime
juice, the cold water, and the honey or syrup.
Stir well and if you like- add a few ice cubes and a sprig of mint, or
a slice of lime over the edge of glass for garnishment.
That's it- a Citrusy, Summery Slimming Drink.
