Katy Perry's Rx For Salt Cravings!

                         Craving Salty Foods!

Katy Perry, the popular and hit making songstress is back on top of the charts
with her hit, "Roar!"

While giving an interview, Ms. Perry revealed she's not a Sweets girl",
her snack of choice: Something Salty and Crunchy. Sound familiar?
If you go back a few posts, you may remember that Whoopi
Goldberg from T.V.'s, "The View" is also a salty and crunchy
snack kind of gal.
Well, if you fit into that category and want to eat less salt and crunch,
try this recipe from the very popular fitness and diet guru- Jorge Cruise.
What is it? It's a baked treat that'll take about a min. or two to prepare.

The recipe:
In a small mug, (microwave proof), mix together 1/4 cup of flaxseed, 1 tsp.
baking powder, 2 tsps. ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. coconut oil, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp.
stevia and 2 tbsps. chopped walnuts. Place the mug in the microwave
and for a min. Check the treat with a toothpick to make sure it's done,
if not, microwave for another 15 secs. Makes 1 serving.
That's it- this recipe is for those who claim to hate sweets and want a
low-cal alternative to all of those chips, doritos, Cheese twists and pretzels.

Good Luck!

American Idol's Rx For Becoming A Songwriter!

                           Make Money With A Song!

American Idol will be starting a new season in about 6 weeks.
The new judges will be Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban.
If you're really a fan of the show, then you must remember the judge
named Kara DioGuardi.
People were a little upset when she was chosen, but she had years of
experience, mainly as a songwriter.

And today, Ms. DioGuardi wants women and men to know that
singers can make it big and get rich, but they rarely write
their own songs, and she wants to help you in that regard.

That's right- Ms. DioGuardi is giving out advice to future songwriters,
in the hopes that you can write songs  and make money.
Listed below, are some of her best tips to make it as a songwriter.
a) Get Deep!
Simply put, personalize the song. Ms. DioGuardi says that a song that
speaks to her, about relationships or friendships are the ones that'll
get played over and over and be remembered for yrs. after they leave
the radio playlist.
b) Add Something Different-
Ms. DioGuardi says that songs like "Grenade" by Bruno Mars
or "Firework" by Katy Perry" have been well received because
they tackle common themes (love and empowerment) in a way
no one's ever heard before.  So, make sure the songs are universal
and one of a kind.
c) Grab Them In The Beginning-
Simply put, make it so catchy right from the beginning, people
want to listen to the rest of the song. Start with strong lyrics and
avoid waiting to long to get to your chorus. Kara says that the beginning

is what people remember-so get to them early.

That's it- Some great tips for the people who usually don't receive too

much recognition. And if you're really serious about songwriting...
go to these sites and enter some songwriting contests.
The sites: ASCAP which stands for the American Society of Composers,
Authors and Publishers. ASCAP.com.
WeAreListening.com , MuseMuse.com/contests and Songwriting.net.

Good Luck!
