J Lo's Rx For A Rocking New Year's Eve!

                       Celebrate like J Lo!

It's official, a drink a day can benefit your health in a number of ways.
What type of ways?

Well, it (alcohol) keeps bones strong, it'll disease-proof your heart,
it helps keep you cold and flu-free, it bolsters your immune system,
it keeps dangerous plaque from sticking to the delicate arteries
on your brain, makes maintaining weight easier and it lengthens your
life, by 3, 5 or even 10 yrs.

And if you plan on celebrating this New Year's Eve, why not
have the drink that comes from the place that produced the one and only

Jennifer Lopez.
The place: Puerto Rico, more specifically: San Juan Puerto Rico.
Although we're not sure if J Lo has ever lived in Puerto Rico,
we are sure that this drink comes from there.
The Drink...The Coco Loco!
A creamy and delicious, rum-spiked cocktail and you can get it from
the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa located in Puerto Rico.
Or you can make the drink in the comfort of your own home.
The Ingredients:
1 cup cracked Ice
1/4 cup coconut cream
2 Tbs. dark rum (try Bacardi 151 proof)
2 Tbs. vanilla Ice cream
1 Tbs. almond liqueur ( Amaretto)
ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp.
maraschino cherry (optional)
Directions:

In a blender, combine the first 5 ingredients, plus a little cinnamon,
blend until smooth and pour into a tall glass.
Sprinkle on the remaining cinnamon and place a cherry (or two)
on top. Enough for 1 serving.

That's it- a drink for the New Year or for anytime, courtesy of J Lo.

Good Luck!

J Lo's Rx To Prevent Breast Cancer!

Eat This To Prevent Breast Cancer!

J Lo loves to talk about her Puerto Rican heritage.
One thing that's popular in Puerto Rico and a lot of other
Spanish countries...their love of Rice and Beans!
And if you get into the habit of eating rice and beans,
you can lower your risk of a disease that puts the fear in a lot of women.

The disease: Breast Cancer!
Both rice and beans are packed with fiber, which binds to excess
estrogen and helps shuttle it out of the body before it can reach potentially
cancer-causing  amounts.
And more great news: Beans contain natural protease inhibitors, compounds that
help regulate the division of cells, cutting your risk of breast cancer by 30%.
How much and how many times a week should you eat rice and beans?

Try and get in 2 servings of rice and beans a week, and then work in
another day, making it 3 times a week, And make the rice-brown, which
is much healthier.

Good Luck!
