T.V. Host's Rx For a Chilled Soup!

                             Have Some Soup...Watermelon Soup!

If you're a regular here then you may have seen a post or two extolling

the benefits of the red and juicy Summer-time fruit known as Watermelon.
And for newcomers who aren't aware of the benefits, here are a few...
* A natural sleep-aid. Goodbye sleeping pills.
* Natural Sunscreen- So long store bought sunscreen
* Appetite suppressant
* Youth Booster
* Natural Viagra
Plus, many more benefits.

If you're like most Americans and really eat loads of  it (watermelon) during the
Summer months, you may want to switch things up and start making soup,

Watermelon soup.
Watermelon soup?
Yes, and the recipe for this delicious soup comes from the one and only
David Venable.
Who is that?

Only the most popular host on QVC, the shopping network and his recipe for
watermelon soup is listed down below...

Chilled Watermelon Soup!
Ingredients:
4 cups of watermelon, cubed and without the seeds
1/3 cup apple juice
2 Tbs. fresh lime juice
1 Tbs. honey
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. ginger
1/3 cup of yogurt, plain (optional)
Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
-----------------------------------------
Directions:
In a blender or food processor blend the first 5 ingredients, stopping
occasionally to wipe down the sides, blend until smooth.
Remove the blender or processor, cover and place in the refrigerator
for an hour or two. After the time is up, take the soup out of the refrigerator
and pour into 3 bowls or 4 mugs, top with a Tbs. of plain yogurt and a mint leaf.

That's it, a cool and refreshing treat to help you get through the 90 and 100
degree heat plaguing many U.S. residents this week and next week.

Also, look for David Venable on QVC today (Sundays 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.)  doing what he does
best... cooking, eating and selling food.

And one last tip:
If you want to know more about the benefits of watermelon, or honeydew melon or

cantaloupe, head on over to Amazon.com/the kindle store and type The healing benefits of
Melon- in the search bar, download a copy and learn why we all should be eating more
of this type of fruit during the Summer season.

Good Luck!

A Movie Star's Fruit Rx To Help You Live Longer!

                           Live Long and Prosper Like Zoe!

Oh no, the beautiful star of the upcoming Star Trek movie just revealed
she's battling an Autoimmune disease.

The actress:
Zoe Saldana.

Ms. Saldana  like many is fighting it naturally, you know with
a "clean diet" meditation, gentle exercise and plenty of hugs--
from her kids and husband.
She's also adding more chocolate, or her version of chocolate
to her daily menus, what type of Choc is that?
Berries.

Ms. Saldana said she wants to watch her sugar intake, so she
has a bowl of berries each night and not real chocolate and if you too,
want to go the berry route as well, you'll be doing your body and soul a
World of good.

What type of good, you ask?
* Lower risk of mental decline
* A flatter tummy
* A reduced appetite

* Lower risk of getting diabetes
* More serotonin, you know--the "mood boosting hormone"
* Improved heart health

Blue and Black
------------------------------------------------------------------
* Whiter teeth
* A 60% less chance of getting Br. Cancer
* Stronger Immune system
* Lowers bad cholesterol and raises the good cholesterol
* Improved eyesight
Strawberries

------------------------------------------------------------------
* A faster metabolism
* keep blood sugar levels stable- great if you're diabetic
* Improves circulation- prevent blood clots (especially if you sit
  all day)
* Loaded with antioxidants
* Reduce inflammation throughout the body.
* Natural Sun Block

Raspberries
---------------------------------------------------------------

So, there you have it, Zoe Saldana's recipe for eating something sweet
without eating something sweet and if you plan on copying this way of eating,
remember these tips...

* Make sure to wash your berries if you buy them fresh,
as fresh berries (the skins) may contain pesticides.
Or buy frozen.

* Make sure to have the berries plain or with a low-fat
whipped topping or homemade Ice cream, (look for a recipe
using an avocado and a banana)
* Avoid adding tons of sugar and a white flour crust.
Once in a while is okay, do it on a regular basis
and you increase your odds of getting a number of illnesses and diseases.
* Do like the Danes and Italians-
They eat their berries with a little vinegar (Denmark)
or a little pepper, (Italy). Doing so reduces your odds of getting diabetes
and some cancers.

Good Luck!

The constant talk about wearing sunscreen must be getting old
for a lot of you. You know, wear 30 SPF, no-50 SPF, or make sure to apply

it to areas that you normally neglect...to your ears, scalp, soles of your feet, etc.

If you're concerned about what all of that sunscreen is doing to you
and want something healthier and all-natural, then you may want to

An Over 40 Year Old Star's Rx To Beat Bloat!

                         Look Slim and Trim Like Gabrielle!

You may not believe it, but Gabrielle Union, (Now Gabrielle Union- Wade)
is over 40. It seems like we were just watching her play a teen cheerleader

in the 2000 hit-- "Bring It On!"

And as the years have passed and getting married to a younger man,
Ms Union-Wade knows how important it is to keep up...physically- and

to make sure she keeps up (for Hollywood and her younger man)
Gabrielle downs a certain beverage.
What kind of beverage?
A dairy-free rice milk.

Why this type of milk you ask?
It doesn't have any of the "belly-bloating effects" many regular dairy
products have, plus it contains a number of B vitamins, which help boost
metabolism.

So, next time you see Ms. Union-Wade and you see that flat stomach,
don't think liposuction, think Rice milk.
Look for the brand called "Rice Dream" available at health-food stores
or supermarkets and use it in a smoothie or pour it over a bowl of Museli.
Also important: A number of people don't like or can't drink milk and for you,

there are some other bloat-busting foods out there, and if you want to
know which foods beat bloat, go to Skreened.com and pick up this Tee-shirt,
see the Tee-shirt to the right.

Supermodel's Fruit Rx For Women!

                                     A Tip For Pregnant Women!
If you caught singer Adam Levine on "The Jimmy Fallon" show, then you may
remember when he was asked how his pregnant wife was doing.

His wife: Behati Prinloo, a South African who happens to be a Victoria Secret's
"Supermodel!"
One thing that Mr. Levine revealed was that his wife had cravings,
what type of cravings?
Cravings for Watermelon.

A strange craving, but not that unusual, considering that a lot of women
crave things they need, for example--Alyson Hannigan (from "How I met
Your Mother") craved beef, and as a vegetarian, Ms. Hannigan gave in,
figuring she needed the extra Iron.
And then there are women who crave, Ice cubes, dirt, charcoal and laundry detergent,

(powdered) and this too, is an iron deficiency.

As for Ms. Prinloo, watermelon cravings may be a need for more vitamin C, B6,
potassium and biotin and since it is watermelon, here are some other benefits
Ms. Prinloo may be getting from all of that watermelon.

Things like...
* Headache relief_-
 If your head is pounding, reach for some watermelon,
before reaching for aspirin.
* Natural Air Conditioner-
Unable to get to a fan or air conditioner? Have a slice of cold watermelon to cool down.
Also helpful: stay away from rich and carb -heavy foods which only make the

heat worse.
* Skin Cancer-

Mentioned on Dr. Oz, all red foods like tomatoes, pomegranates,
red grapefruit and watermelon protect your skin from the Sun's harmful rays,
sometimes even better than Sunscreen. It's the lycopene, the substance that

gives these foods their red colors that makes it such a skin-cancer fighter.
* Sunburn Relief-
If you should lie out too long and get burned by too much Sun,

place some slices of watermelon on your back. Plain yogurt and apple slices
also work.
* Brain Health-
Put aside those fears about dementia and brain decline by eating more watermelon.
* A Sleep Aid-
Want to do away with or even avoid Dr. prescribed sleep aids? Eat more watermelon.

* Stop The Worrying-
Prone to endless worrying and anxiety attacks?
You guessed it, more watermelon to the rescue.
* A Benefit Just for Men-
Men who eat and/or juice watermelon (even the rind) report a higher sex drive.
Consider it "natural, cheaper and safer" Viagra.
Sorry ladies, watermelon doesn't have the same effect on your libido.
That's it's-- some natural benefits of the red fruit known as Watermelon,

or Adam Levine's main squeeze favorite craving buster.

If you need more info on how watermelon, cantaloupe, or honeydew melon can
really boost your health, head on over to Amazon.com/the kindle store and
type Melon Power, The Benefits of Summer Melons in the search bar.
And lastly, Ladies, there are some fruits that act as "natural viagra"

but you must combine them, and if you want to know which fruits
will do the job, also head to Amazon.com/the kindle store and type
Natural Libido Boosters Just For Women in the search bar.

Good Luck!

Hollywood's Rx For Family Fun!

                      Have Fun Like a Hollywood Star!

If you think most stars are jet-setting around the World on a private jet or
travelling to top spas, they're not.  Well most of them aren't.
Yes, some do take advantage of their good fortune, but most really find
joy in their local Farmer's market.

A Farmer's market?

Yes, It's been reported that Bruce Willis and supermodel Miranda Kerr
were spotted at Farmer's markets a few wks. ago.

dairy products, eggs and sometimes baked goods.
And now is the time to stock up.
On fruit, vegetables and other goodies?

And if you do stock up on fruit, perhaps you should know a little about
the fruit you're buying.

The Hollywood Cheapskates Guide To Looking Your Best!

                          Save Your Money and Still Look Good!

Although many stars are rolling in the dough, that doesn't mean
they're willing to spend it all.

Who are these stars?
Jay Leno.
Sarah Michelle Gellar
David Schwimmer
Tiger Woods
Jennifer Garner
And according to a recent report, Jennifer Garner isn't letting
her daughters have cellphones. (Just wait a yr. or two, she'll
change her mind)
If you're like  some of the stars and you like to shop for bargains,
or use coupons, you may want be interested in the two tips listed below.

These 2 tips will not only save you money, they'll also improve the
way you look.

The money saving tips,
* Expired Sun Screen.
Think that sunscreen you have sitting in the cabinet
is of no use to you?

You're wrong, don't apply it to your body for protection from
the Sun, use it to shave your legs and underarms.

Yes, sun screen that's expired can help your legs look silky smooth
and clean shaven.

Now on to tip no. 2-

* Old T-Shirts-
Or even new ones, can help end the nightmare of frizzy hair.
Yes, it sounds odd, but a woman asked her stylist what she could do

to tame her frizzy locks?The stylist replied--take a T-shirt, and dry your
hair after washing it. The thin material from a T-shirt doesn't beat up hair
like towels do. And after drying your hair, wrap the T-shirt around your

hair as you would a towel.
And if you're out and about, and aren't able to wash your hair, carry a
few dryer sheets with you, why? New or used dryer sheets can
also help tame your frizzy locks.

So, if you think that you don't have anything in common with
any stars, think again, you hate to spend money on things you
don't need and so do the stars... listed above.

Good Luck!
