GMA's Rx For Better Health!

                         Snack Like George!

Did you catch this morning's "Good Morning America?"

They did a cute segment where they brought in kids who
looked like the hosts.
This morning, they had two lookalikes who resembled
Amy Robach and George Stephanopoulos.

The kids were also tested on what they knew about the
hosts they resembled.

The young man who resembled George, said "George eats
an apple everyday as soon as he goes off the air."
George, literally eats an Apple a Day.

If you're aware of the Apple a Day saying and aren't

practicing it, you may want to do like George and start, why?
An apple a day can...

a) Boost heart health.
Concerned about heart disease as you age? Don't fear it,
have an apple a day, and block and repair damage you may
have already done.
b) Eat Less-
Concerned about your big appetite? Don't do like George,
just eat an apple or two before your 2 biggest meals.
Apples are considered "nature's best and safest diet pills.
It must work for George, he's been slim for 53 yrs. now.
c) A Better Memory-
Are you concerned you may not remember like you used to?
Build a super memory like George, and eat or even better, drink
some organic apple juice. 2 cups a day. Apples (and the juice)
raise neurotransmitters that are important to memory as you age.
d) Beautiful Skin For Life-
A woman started peeling an apple, slicing the apple, placing

those slices in a saucepan, added a 1/4 cup of milk, heated both
the apple and milk up for a few minutes, turned off the pan, and
allowed it to cool a bit. Then, she reclined in a comfortable

chair and placed the apples all over her face, neck and hands,
she did this for 15 to 20 minutes, and then removed the apples,

rinsed off her face with warm water and applied her moisturizer.
She did this 2 to 3 times a week, starting in her late 30's and
today--she's 55, does it once a week and still remains wrinkle-free.
That's right- eating them or wearing them as a mask, will help you look

yrs. younger. One tip: if you do eat them, make sure you eat the skin,
the fiber in the skin will benefit your health in a number of ways.

That's it- And for all those who wonder how George Stephanopoulos remains
so vibrant and youthful at age 53, wonder no more. It's the old Apple-A-Day trick.
And if you're wondering about Donald Trump's health secret: "The Donald"

eats a cheeseburger every night (true story).

Good Luck!

Hollywood's Rx Just For Younger Women!

                Mammograms For Younger Women!

Ladies, remember when Good Morning co-host Amy Robach,
announced she had breast cancer?

She was 40 and thought she was too young for a mammogram.
Well, Robin Roberts told her "put those fears aside and do it."
Ah, the wisdom of someone older, Robin Roberts was right,
new research says that women should be getting mammograms
in their late 30's and early 40's.

Why?
The earlier you have a mammogram, the better the medical

professionals are able to catch a tumor at its smallest
and you may not need chemotherapy.

And you may be wondering why women who look as healthy
as Ms. Robach are getting breast cancer.
Believe it or not, it's something you may be avoiding that's causing it.
What is that? No Sun or too little Sun,
Yup, women who live in California, Florida and Arizona have lower
rates of breast cancer than those who live in Mass. Ohio, Michigan
and Minn.

Researchers say that the vitamin D you get from the Sun, helps keep

you breast cancer-free and if you're like Ms. Robach and working indoors
most of the week, you're not getting any exposure to Sun.
So, what do you do?
You can move to Hollywood (not a possibility?) or you can get more D from
supplements (check with your Dr. on amounts) or you can eat
more foods like sockeye salmon, mackerel, shiitake and white button
mushrooms and herring.
And if you're able-get some Sun, 15 to 20 mins. with no sunscreen,
and a little more for people of Color. (Lupita Nyong'o).

Need more tips on how to stay breast cancer-free?
Head to Amazon.com/ the kindle store and check out The Superfoods That'll
Prevent Breast Cancer. Type it into the search bar and then download it.

Good Luck!
