The Golden Globes Beverage Rx For Younger Skin!

                        The Drink For Healhier Skin!

If  you're a fan of award shows, then last night was like almost
like the Super Bowl for you. Not quite the Super Bowl, but close.
And the award show that was held last night was "the Golden Globes!"
The show was entertaining and fun, thanks mostly to hosts Tina Fey and
Amy Poehler.

But the real excitement began when the show was over.
When the show was over? Yes, the after-party.
And if was like most after-parties, then that means drinking.
And if your choice of adult beverages is a martini, or a gin and tonic
or a white wine spritzer, you may want change it.
Change it? To what? A Bloody Mary!

And why a Bloody Mary you ask?
Because you the drinker can also get smoother skin as a result.
That's right, we always hear how women (especially Hollywood
women) are concerned abotut wrinkles, well this is a great way to
celebrate (movies, awards, whatever) and look a few yrs. younger to boot.

According to researchers, tomato juice in Blood Mary's  contains
Lycopene, a compound that gives red grapefruit, peppers, watermelon
and tomatoes, their red color
also guards against free radical damage as well as the
Sun's UV rays.
But there' s a catch, the catch--too much alcohol can do serious damage
to your skin, so have one drink with vodka and the rest wth T.J.
and club soda.
Doing this helps your liver and helps you get radiant looking skin.
Plus, you won't have to worry about the Paparazi taking embarrassing
photos of you falling down drunk. It' a win-win for everyone.

That's it and you want some great recipes for other
adult beverages, head to Amazon.com/the Kindle store
and type Adult Beverages From Around The World in
the search bar. Download it and learn the recipes for over
40 drinks.

Good Luck!

A Fall Movie Rx's For Looking and Feeling Great!

                           Fall Movie Tip!

Now that the Summer is over, it's time for warm sweaters, apples and apple cider,
shorter days, heartier meals (like beef stew) and Fall movies.

And if you're into movies with great plots and great acting, you may
want to check out "This Is Where I Leave You!"
A movie about 4 siblings who meet up after their father dies.
The movie features half of Hollywood, (only kidding) stars
like Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Connie Britton, Dax Shepard,
Abigail Spencer and Jane Fonda.

And if you do go, make sure to pay special attention to Jane Fonda,
why?
She's now 76 and looks better than ever.
Ms. Fonda was asked recently, what helps you stay so vibrant
and young looking.
Her answer wasn't the usual diet, yoga, cosmetic surgery,

no- Ms. Fonda uses the same beauty secret used by Penelope
Cruz.
What is it?

Sleep!
That's right, Ms. Fonda says she gets 8 to 9 hrs. of sleep a night.
And if you don't think an extra hr. or two of sleep (each night) will
help, you're wrong.
In addition to helping you look a few yrs. younger,
6 and 1/2 hrs. of sleep to 8 hrs. of sleep each night will also...
* Help you turn back the clock. Want to spend less time
  applying moisturizers, creams and lotions?
Sleep more and you' ll see fewer wrinkles.
They don't call it "beauty sleep" for nothing.

* Help you solve difficult problems. (Make sure kids get
between 7 to 9 hrs. of sleep each night. It (sleep) helps them
  in school.
* Weight maintenance- struggling with a sweet tooth or carb
cravings? More sleep may be the answer to conquer your
    expanding waistline.
* Lower Rates of certain diseases.
Concerned about becoming a diabetic? Or getting breast,
uterine or colon cancer? Sleep more and reduce your rates
of ever getting any type of disease. Especially important:
Get to sleep before 12:00 am and make sure the room is
   totally dark.
* Cold Season--another sign of Fall? More colds, you can really
give your immune system a boost by sleeping more.

So, if you thought that 4 to 6 hrs. of sleep was enough,
take a cue from Ms. Fonda and Penelope Cruz and go to bed
earlier and get up later. Your body, mind, soul and appearance
will thank you.

Good Luck!

Mean Girl's Rx For Beautiful Skin!

                                 Vegetable Rx For Great Skin!

It seems that staying out of trouble has been working for Lindsay
Lohan. She hasn't been arrested for almost one whole year.
If you're really a fan of Ms. Lohan's, then you may remember
the cute girl with all of those freckles.
And that's the subject we'll be talking about today,
what subject? The Freckles!

Ms. Lohan may have had some kind of laser surgery,
or she may be taking special pills or she may be using a mask.
A mask?

That's right- a mask made up of foods that come from the Supermarket.
And if you too, have freckles or age spots and don't want to go under
the knife or laser gun, use the following "food" mask.

Ingredients:
1 cup of chopped parsley (fresh) *
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. of Greek Yogurt (plain)
Directions:
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl,

take a comfortable chair (preferably one that reclines)
and place the facial mask on your freckles or
age spots. Make sure to place some on the back of your hands
as well.
Leave on for 10 to 15 mins and then wash your face, neck
and the back of your hands with warm water.
It's best to do this on the weekend or whenever you have time
off, as some redness may occur.

* A fun fact concerning the parsley. Frank Sinatra, (Ole Blue Eyes)
was a Parsley lover. How much did he love parsley?

It's rumored, he had his staff cut up some parsley, add some
chopped garlic and a little olive oil and leave it on the counter/
Friends and family said Mr. Sinatra ate this combo a few times
a week.

So, if you're like the former Lindsay and have freckles or if you
have some age spots that you want removed, then it's time to
head to your  local grocery store.
And if you want more tips on how to correct skin problems
or enhance your beauty naturally, look for a new book called...

The Golden Globe's Rx To Beat Dry Winter Hair!

Keep Hair Luxurious All Winter Long!

Don't forget to watch the "Golden Globes" this weekend.
You especially want to watch the hosts--Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
One thing you may not want to watch and especially avoid is the
commercial starring Tine Fey.
Why?
It's a hair care product from Garnier Nutrisse and it's called
"Nourishing Color Creme."
And why should you avoid it?
Because it's expensive and you can do-it-yourself for much less.

That's right- Nutrisse Garnier thinks that because it (the shampoo)
has some avocado in it, and Tina Fey is the star, they (the creators
can sell it to you at a high price.
But don't fall for it, you can do an home version for much less.
Consider it a "smoothie" for your hair, and with the brutal temperatures
in a lot of states, this "smoothie" can leave your hair luxurious and
stop the breakage.
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado
2 tbsps. olive or coconut oil
Directions:
Mash the avocado with a big spoon, and then add
the oil,  mix until you get a creamy paste.
Sit in the tub or in an area that you won't mind getting dirty.
Dampen your hair, and place the avocado mask on your hair.
Comb the mixture through your hair, leave on for 20 minutes,
and finish up by shampooing and conditioning.

Use this treatment once a week and you'll have hair
that'll rival any movie stars.'

1 More tip for great Winter hair--
Limit your use of heat-styling tools (tools like curling irons)
which really leave your hair dry. Instead, try a no-heat styling trick,
Mist on a leave-in conditioner before going to bed and in the morning,
style your hair any way you want, waves, braids or a ponytail.

That's it--A hair care tip for this brutal and harsh Winter/

Good Luck!

Gossip Girl's Rx For Comfortable Boots!

                         Boots For Gossip Girls!

With Winter in full swing, boots are usually the norm.

But, not just any boots. The boots we're talking about are
the hairy beasts that receive a lot of criticism and haven't been
around for awhile.

The boots: Uggs!

That's right- those boots that look like they're worn by Bigfoot
are making a comeback. Why?
Wearing 4 to 6 inch heels for a good portion of the day and then to
Red Carpet events at night, and  you can see why Uggs are back.
And some of the people who are helping the boots make

a comeback are popular entertainment figures.

Listed below are the stars that are reenergizing the Uggs comeback.
Stars like...
a) Leighton Meester

b) Blake Lively
c) Eva Longoria
d) Tina Fey
e) Miley Cyrus
f) Sarah J. Parker
g) Kelly Osbourne
h) Megan Fox

So, if you were thinking about buying a pair of Uggs,
just remember the names above and the decision should be
a lot easier.

Good Luck!

Sofia Vergara's Rx For A Longer Life!

                        Modern Family and Today's Diet!

Sofia Vergara the popular star of the ABC hit- "Modern Family"
has just been named the highest paid actress on television.
Some other actresses to join the list: Tina Fey and Eva Longoria.

Ms. Vergara comes from Columbia and studied to become a dentist.
Like a lot of people who come from South American countries, Ms.
Vergara ate her share of rice and beans. And if you hear Ms. Vergara
now, she talks a great deal about her love of food. All Food!
If she's following the typical "American" diet and not the diet she
followed as a young girl, she may be in big trouble.

How so?
New research says the more meals you eat that contain rice and beans,
the longer you'll live. Need proof? Look at the Okinawans from Japan,
the Sardianians from Italy, and the Hunza tribe from the Himalayan mountains,
all of these groups eat the most beans and live well into their 90's and 100's.
And it's just not that live long, they live without cancer, heart disease,
depression and memory problems so prevalent in some other countries.

So, do you want to add a few more yrs. to your life?
Then make sure to do like the younger Sofia in Columbia,
and stay away from the new Sofia, (steak, pizza, cannolis and cupcakes)

A few more tips...
Plan on using beans from the bag? place them in a big bowl and cover
with cold water, let sit for a few hrs. or overnight. Helps reduce the gassiness.
Plan on using canned beans? Rinse with cold water to remove some of the salt.
And for the rice- make it brown and rinse it as well. Letting rice sit in cold water
for an hr. removing the water and then cooking it-makes it a lot healthier.

Good Luck!
