Hollywood's Rx For Leftover Valentine's Day Champagne!

                          Drink Up For Better Health!

Another Valentine's day has come and gone, and if you celebrated like
some stars with champagne, make sure you don't let it go to waste.
Why?
Well, it's expensive, but just like red wine it can also boost your health

and looks.
How so? Continue reading to find out.

a) Improve Memory!
Champagne is made with grapes and grapes are one of the best foods
to help improve both spatial and short term memory.
b) A Healthier Heart-
Yes, champagne can improve memory, and it can also boost heart
health, by keeping dangerous plaque from sticking to arteries near
the heart and brain. This also means you lower your risk for stroke and
blood clots.
c) It's Better For Your Waistline-
A glass of red or white wine comes in at about 120 calories,
champagne about 80.
d) Thicker Hair-
Use some of that champagne as a hair conditioner.
Allow it to sit at room temperature and then take it into

the bathroom with you. After using your regular shampoo,
pour in the champagne and really work it into your scalp.
After a few minutes, wash it out using lukewarm water.

There you have it, putting those leftovers to use, just like
some of Hollywood's biggest stars would, (Jennifer Garner,
Sarah Michelle Gellar, and the 2 Jessicas--Simpson and Chastain).
And lastly, if you want to continue to reap some of the benefits of

a glass of champagne but can't afford to do so- look for cheaper
varieties...Cava and Prosecco.

Good Luck!

The Hoff's Rx For Better Health!

                         Do Like The Hoff!

If you're a fan of television in the 70's, 80's and 90's then you
should know who the Hoff is.

Don't know? It's David Hasselhoff.
Maybe he's trying to undo some of the damage he inflicted
on himself with the booze and cheeseburgers, but he swears
he's a new man. How?

With a  new diet and exercise plan.
Oh- he's also doing something we only associate with babies.
What's that? He takes a nap for 20 mins. everyday.
Although most of us working folks can't stop what we're doing and

take a 20 min. nap. But if you're schedule allows, do it, you'll benefit
in a number of ways-- like...
a) Reduce heart attack risk.
b) Reduce stroke risk.
c) Get More Creative.
d) Control Appetite Better. (you'll resist those snacks that call your name).
e) Improve Moods (be less cranky)
f) Save Money- You won't need to spend money on energy drinks.
A 20 min. nap will help you feel refreshed and ready to take on the rest
   of the day.
g) Prevent Burnout.
h) Improve learning and boost memory.
i) Increase Alertness
And if you're a man and think it's "unmanly" to nap,
remember these famous men who napped...
Winston Churchill
Napoleon Bonaparte
Stonewall Jackson
Thomas Edison
Ronald Reagan
Lyndon Johnson
Salvador Dali
John F. Kennedy
and today, you can add David Hasselhoff to that list of

great men.

And if you want more info on the Hoff's new diet program,
go to Google.com and type David Hasselhoff's diet in the search bar.

Good Luck!

J. K. Rowling's Rx For More Happiness!

Write Your Way To More Happiness!

J. K. Rowling, the writer who created the Harry Potter series,
wrote her way out of welfare and into a life of unbelievable riches.
Writing like yoga or acupuncture has been a form of therapy for decades,
and if you find yourself needing therapy for say- frustration, bad moods

or anxiety, try writing your way to better moods.

That's right- according to a study done at Stanford Univ. writing down what you

like about you or your life during troubling times can have you feeling more
upbeat, less blue and easily annoyed in a matter of weeks.
The researchers think that remembering what makes you special (a great mom)

(a hard-working  and loyal employee) raises your self confidence, which fills you
with positive feelings.
And if you're already positive and don't need any more self confidence,
you can write to...

improve memory
lower blood pressure
slash stress
boost your immunity (especially important during cold and flu season)

So, to become more positive or lower your blood pressure,
keep a pen and a note pad handy.
And remember, writing worked out wonderfully for J.K. Rowling,
and it might work out for you.

Good Luck!

Dancing With The Stars Rx For Achy Muscles!

                           Dance Up A Storm!

Dancing With The Stars starts a new season Sept. 24th.
This season will be different- how? All of the contestants
have been on the show before, stars like...

Emmitt Smith, Melissa Rycroft, Drew Lachey and of course
Kirstie Allie.
If you only watch the show for the dancing and to see the costumes,

why not change that and take up dancing?
Take up dancing?

That's right- according to new research-dancing can make your

you healthier in a number of ways, like... A better memory, fewer
aches and pains and weight loss and weight maintenance.

Firstly, let's start with memory.
If you take up ballroom or tap, remembering the intricate steps
is a great way for you to build up your memory. And learning these
dance steps at 50, 60 or 70 is a great way to stave off Alzheimer's
and it'll keep you active.

Secondly, fewer aches and pains?
Yes, as you age you're more likely to
slow down and become less active- big mistake. Dancing helps you
stretch and tone muscles, improve flexibility and reduce muscle stiffness.
Word of caution: If dancing is too much, start with gentle stretching and
beginner's yoga.

Thirdly, Lose and maintain weight-
Ever notice the dancers and their trim physiques?
Well, they don't get if from hours at the gym or on the treadmill.
If weight is an issue and you're not able to stick with weightlifting

or spinning classes, perhaps a dance class is just what you need.

That's It- Some health lessons from "Dancing With The Stars!"

Good Luck!

Marilu Henner's Rx For Better Recall!

                 Boost Memory Naturally!

Marilu Henner has been all over the airwaves these past 2 weeks,
why? She was talking about her "perfect memory!"
If you find that your memory isn't what it used to be, try this trick
to improve it.

Say- you have to pick up some dry cleaning after work,
instead of using a post it on your steering wheel.
Attach an emotion to it. Simply put, imagine the joy your family
will feel, when you bring the clothes home.

Or say you need a birthday card, imagine how your friend or family
member will feel without the card or a gift. Or attach a good image to it,
like the joy they'll feel when they read the card.

Why does this technique work?
Each time your brain needs to recall something, the memory travels
down a neural pathway. Attaching an emotion to a task creates an additional
neural pathway for the memory to use, giving your brain 2 ways to process the
information.

That's it- Although this trick won't bring you perfect recall like Ms. Henners',
a small improvement is still beneficial none-the-less.

Good Luck!
