A Country Star's Hair Care Tip!

                               Style Your Hair Like Carrie's!

A number of women (and men) want Carrie Underwood's legs,
but what about her hair?
You know, that gorgeous head of cascading waves.

Well, you're in luck, the following tip is for all of you who
want Carrie Underwood's hairstyle, but don't want to pay
a small fortune to get it.

The tip:
Pull and Pin all of your hair to one side. This will create an optical
illusion that visually doubles your hair's  thickness.

Next, set your hair with hot rollers, then smooth on a tiny amount
(a pea size amount) of shine serum to tame any flyaways.
And to finish this simple tip- use a paddle brush, sweep all your

hair to one side, then slide a sturdy bobby pin (or 2) at the nape
of your neck, to secure it to the side and then just let the waves fall down to your
shoulders.

That's it, a simple and inexpensive tip to help you get that
"Carrie Underwood hairstyle."

Good Luck!

A Movie Star's Fruit Rx To Help You Live Longer!

Live Long and Prosper Like Zoe!

Oh no, the beautiful star of the upcoming Star Trek movie just revealed
she's battling an Autoimmune disease.

The actress:
Zoe Saldana.

Ms. Saldana  like many is fighting it naturally, you know with
a "clean diet" meditation, gentle exercise and plenty of hugs--
from her kids and husband.
She's also adding more chocolate, or her version of chocolate
to her daily menus, what type of Choc is that?
Berries.

Ms. Saldana said she wants to watch her sugar intake, so she
has a bowl of berries each night and not real chocolate and if you too,
want to go the berry route as well, you'll be doing your body and soul a
World of good.

What type of good, you ask?
* Lower risk of mental decline
* A flatter tummy
* A reduced appetite

* Lower risk of getting diabetes
* More serotonin, you know--the "mood boosting hormone"
* Improved heart health

Blue and Black
------------------------------------------------------------------
* Whiter teeth
* A 60% less chance of getting Br. Cancer
* Stronger Immune system
* Lowers bad cholesterol and raises the good cholesterol
* Improved eyesight
Strawberries

------------------------------------------------------------------
* A faster metabolism
* keep blood sugar levels stable- great if you're diabetic
* Improves circulation- prevent blood clots (especially if you sit
  all day)
* Loaded with antioxidants
* Reduce inflammation throughout the body.
* Natural Sun Block

Raspberries
---------------------------------------------------------------

So, there you have it, Zoe Saldana's recipe for eating something sweet
without eating something sweet and if you plan on copying this way of eating,
remember these tips...

* Make sure to wash your berries if you buy them fresh,
as fresh berries (the skins) may contain pesticides.
Or buy frozen.

* Make sure to have the berries plain or with a low-fat
whipped topping or homemade Ice cream, (look for a recipe
using an avocado and a banana)
* Avoid adding tons of sugar and a white flour crust.
Once in a while is okay, do it on a regular basis
and you increase your odds of getting a number of illnesses and diseases.
* Do like the Danes and Italians-
They eat their berries with a little vinegar (Denmark)
or a little pepper, (Italy). Doing so reduces your odds of getting diabetes
and some cancers.

Good Luck!

A Star's Healthy Fast Food Rx To End Joint Pain!

Fish Tacos For a Saturday Night!

"J Lo" (or Jennifer Lopez) is constantly being asked what's
she does to look so good at age 46?

Her replies are the usual...dance, drink plenty of water,
get enough sleep, cut out soda and eat plenty of fish.

Yes, the last one may really be the secret of her youthful looks

and incredible dance moves at age 46, and if you too, are a big fan
of fish, then you need to give yourself a pat on the back.

Eating fish a few times a week will do a number of great things for  your
health, things like...

* turn back on the clock on skin, plumping it up, making it look less wrinkled
(consider it a cheaper and safer form of Botox)
* put an end to bad and depressive moods, some doctors prescribe more fish
(and not harmful anti-depressants) to banish blue moods and negative thoughts.

* keep arteries clear- concerned about damaged arteries and blood clots?
Eat more fish.
* Ease aches and pains- Eating a few servings of fish each may work just as well
or even better than doctor-prescribed arthritic medications. It's the healthy fats
that help repair damaged muscles and joints.

Wait, you say you're not a fish eater?  Perhaps the following recipe
for a taco, (a Fish taco) will make you a convert.
The recipe:
Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa.
Ingredients:
4 pieces of fish, salmon, trout, catfish, cooked on top of the stove-using a small
amount of oil, or cooked in the oven.

Or just use frozen breaded fillets and cook according to the directions on
the back of the box, (once cooked, allow to cool and remove the breading)
1 red onion, cut into thin slices
1 mango, (ripe) dice it into cubes
1/2 cup of chopped up peppers, red or green
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, ( muddle it with a wooden spoon) to make it less "soapy tasting"
2 Tbs. Lime juice
1/2 cup sour cream
A cup (or 2) of chopped greens, romaine or iceberg lettuce
4 taco shells (prepare according to the directions on the box)

1 Tbs. mashed chipotle  peppers in Adobo sauce, look for Goya or
La Morena at your local supermarket.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Directions:
Place your fish in a bowl and cut into bite size pieces. (or leave it whole)
Combine the mango, pepper, cilnatro and lime juice in
another bowl. And then, combine the sour cream with the chipotle
peppers in another bowl. After that is done, start making your tacos.
Place some fish in a taco, add the mango salsa, and finish it up
with the chipotle sour cream and some lettuce.

That's it- and here are some more tips  regarding fish,
If it (fish) is too pricey, head to Trader's Joe, Aldi.
or Costco and stock up on salmon, sardines and tuna in the cans.
Avoid deep frying it in vats of oil, as this increases your odds of having a stroke.
Do combine your fish with veggies, or brown rice and not French fries, hush puppies,
Mac and Cheese and buckets of soda (or Kool-aid)
Having  fish a few times a week and you too, can look and feel younger just like "J Lo"

And one last tip....

Go online and look for books by Nicholas Perricone, he's a dermatologist and
Yale professor who started writing about the benefits of fish to turn back the
clock (on one's appearance) about 15 yrs. ago.
Also head to Amazon.com and type The Nordic Secrets to Perfect Health

in the search bar. Download it and learn how the people of Scandinavian
countries eat tons of fish and suffer way less depression (even with 3 hours of
sunlight in the Winter) than their American brothers and sisters.

Good Luck!

If makeup and sunscreen are taking their toll on your skin, you know-
clogged pores and dull skin. you may want to reverse it with fruit.

Fruit?
Yes, with the fruits that are as popular in Rhianna's home country (The Bahamas)
as apples and oranges are here in the U.S.

The fruits: Papaya and Pineapples.

Bey's Rx To Help Lower Cancer Rates!

                                  Ladies- Eat More Citrus!
Ladies, the talk of breast cancer is always in the news, as well it
should be, but's let's not forget about lung, colon, pancreatic
or prostate cancer and thanks to Bey, or Beyonce you and
your loved ones can really lower your odds of ever getting any type
of cancer.

How, you ask?

By adding more lemons (and other citrus) to your smoothies, veggie
stir-fries, or tropical drinks, (only 1 a day).
But wait, not just any type of lemon or limes, no--you need to buy organic
citrus, freeze them and then use most of the lemon, (especially the peel)

That's right, thanks to new research,  it's been shown that citrus fruit,
especially the peel will not only help prevent a number of cancers,

it can also be used to help eliminate the cancer you or a loved one may already
have, consider it (tart chemotherapy).

Yes, frozen organic lemon peels to get rid of cancer and if you've been
a regular here, (at this blog) then you know, we covered this subject on
a number of occasions.

We mentioned how the peels from lemons, limes, oranges, clementines
and tangerines can do everything from protect your skin from the Sun's
harmful rays (natural sunscreen) to ending dizziness,to lowering your
odds of getting dementia, to keeping your legs free of unsightly varicose veins.

So, if you're the type that's only been using lemons to make "Lemonade"
(like Beyonce) you may want to reconsider that decision ans use the
whole lemon (and lime and clementine and orange).
And if you need more info, go to Google.com, and type
frozen lemons to fight (or prevent) cancer.

That's it for today, and remember to drink more lemonade this
holiday season, but not just the juice, add the peels to that citrusy
pitcher of goodness as well.

Good Luck!

Dress This Way For Youthful Skin!

The fourth of July is almost here, and for many that means cookouts,

heading off to see fireworks, and celebrating our independence from
England, which eventually led to the formation of this great nation,

do, offering you another line of defense against Sun damage.

this 4th of July, remember this tip and wear some red and blue as well.

Good Luck!
