The Holiday Food Rxs For Looking Youthful!

                           Eat Your Way Beautiful!

On today's Ellen Degeneres show- she had on Martha Stewart.
And if you didn't see it, then you missed her cooking segment.
What type of cooking?
Ms. Stewart made wraps, more specifically- vegetable-filled wraps.

The wraps were made especially for Ellen, a vegan and Drew Barrymore,
a vegetarian.
And if you're a "healthy" eater for any reason, (to maintain weight, look younger,
give you more energy, etc.)
then you may be surprised that Thanksgiving dinner can boost health and
help you look younger as well.
Thanksgiving dinner?
Yes, and if you need proof, continue reading...

a) Sweet Potatoes-

Eaten plain or with a little butter, honey and spices- the orange tubers can help
fade those wrinkles and even prevent them.

That's right, a leading anti-aging expert says that foods high in vitamin A
may be all the medicine you need for a youthful and taut complexion.
And sadly, too many woman avoid or neglect the high vitamin-A rich foods, and doing so
invites the fine lines and deep wrinkles.
So, eat some sweet potatoes, carrots, apricots, or pumpkin and become
your own version of "Benjamin Button."
b) Cranberries-
Want stronger teeth and gums? Eat cranberries.
Cranberries stop infection-causing bacteria from sticking to your teeth and gums.
And less bacteria in your mouth means you lower the risk of gingivitis and cavities.
And one last tip: make sure to eat fresh cranberries. Canned cranberries
and all of that sugar only makes things worse- for your mouth.
Look for recipes to make fresh cranberries online.
c) Yams-

Are you getting up there in age? Is menopause making life unbearable?
Then start eating yams. The darker skin tubers can increase your levels
of protective hormones by a whopping 25%, and lower the levels of harmful hormones.
Plus, balancing hormones lowers your odds of becoming obese,  frail (osteoporosis)
and cancer ridden.
One more tip- It's rumored that a village in Nigeria, where the women eat yams
almost everyday of the wk. give birth to twins and triplets at higher rates than
women anywhere else in the World.
Again, yams balance hormones and those balanced hormones may produce
multiple births.
Bake yams in the oven and eat with some honey, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg
and allspice.
d) Turkey-
No, turkey isn't fattening. Although it can be when you add stuffing, gravy, rolls,
Mac & Cheese, canned cranberries and a slice of sweet potato, or pumpkin
or pecan, but eat it alone and you can boost hair growth.

That's right- turkey contains amino acids that reduce breakage, strengthen follicles,
and increases keratin (the protein that gives hair its shine).
And something even better- if your hair suffers from too much heat- (curling

irons, or the Sun) over-processing or frequent dye jobs eat more turkey.
What type of turkey works best? Dark meat is more beneficial for your hair.
Save up the white meat and eat it if you want to dream up something creative.
(like a screenplay.
That's it- the real benefits of Thanksgiving dinner. The beauty benefits.

Good Luck!

Morning Show's Rx To Prevent Diabetes!

Lower your odds of becoming Diabetic!

All this week The "Today Show" is giving you
some great alternatives on how to avoid certain
diseases & illnesses. Yesterday it was lowering blood
pressure and this morning-it was diabetes.

Nutritionist Joy Bauer gave some great tips,
regarding foods, beverages and exercises,
but there's one tip she left out.
What was that?
According to new research, getting more vitamin D
can reduce your odds of getting it by 30 percent.

Vitamin D helps your pancreas produce insulin,
plus it helps your muscle cells burn blood sugar for fuel.
So, are you ready to try more D and stay diabetes-free?
If so, remember the following tips...
a- Take a probiotic, especially if you're sugar is high.
Look for a mixed probiotic that has "good" bacteria
in each dose. One to try--Hyperbiotics Pro- 15 or
Number One nutrition's advanced Probiotic.
Take the amount listed on the label.
b-Take this form of D if your sugar is just a little high,
the D- vitamin D 3, the most absorbable form.
Take about 2,000 to 3.000 IUs each day.
Important tip- take your D with some food.
c-Eat more fish (like salmon, trout, tuna or mackerel.
Drink more fortified milk and eat more fresh mushrooms.
d- Get some Sun. Not to make you more fit and tan,
but to help you prevent diabetes. Vitamin D is called
"The sunshine vitamin" for a reason and that reason
is you'll get more D into your system if you sit
outside for 15 to 20 mins. Without sunscreen.
Another tip- let your fresh mushrooms also soak
up some Sun, they'll be better for you.
And lastly, if you want to keep your kids diabetes-free, head to
Amazon.com/the kindle store and download, see title to the right---

That's it for today.
And don't forget to head on over to Amazon.com/
to the kindle book store and type The healing
power of alcohol in the search bar.
Download it and learn how a little alcohol each day can
improve memory, keep bones strong, prevent heart disease,
and help you lose or maintain weight.

Good Luck!

The Today's Show Herbal Rx For Better Health!

                            Grow Herbs Like Martha!

If you happened to catch the "Today show" yesterday, then you were treated to
"The Domestic Goddess" Martha Stewart talking about growing herbs in your
kitchen or backyard.

And even though Ms. Stewart told us (the viewing audience) about
how to start planting our own herbs, the types of pots to use, and the proper ways to

water them, she left out one important tip, what tip was that?
The benefits each herb could impart to us, (the viewing audience).

Well, don't despair, that's why we're here, to educate you just like Ms. Stewart.
So, to get started, lets start with the herbs Ms. Stewart recommended for your
own home garden, first up....

* Mint-
Popular in the Middle East, mint can put an end to stomach cramps and gas.
Use it to make tea or add to a salad, fruit or vegetable.
Or pair it with eggplant, tomatoes, couscous or green peas.
And if you like peppermint and spearmint grow some of that as well.

Peppermint can alleviate the headaches that occur when you're dieting.
And spearmint- can help get rid of facial hair. Yes, spearmint lowers the testosterone in

your system that causes excess facial hair. Drink a cup or two a day until you see
the results you want and then stop. Women still need the hormone testosterone.

* Oregano-
Don't you love the taste of oregano on your plate of spaghetti or pizza pie?

So, do we. And if you want a food that has more nutrients than a bowl of spinach,
an ounce of dark Choc. or a bowl of blueberries, look no further than oregano.
And if menstrual cramp pain is too unbearable, add oregano to your tomato sauce,
fish or summer squash. Oregano also helps you develop a top-notch immune system.
* Parsley-

Who wants to live till 100? Well, if you answered " I do" then you need to add more parsley
to your menus. One Dr. in Miami discovered that parsley is one of the best (and inexpensive)

ways to rid your blood of toxins and germs. It also helps you get rid of bloat. (Ladies)
Add parsley to grains, salads, seafood and tomato dishes.
And one more tip, the Dr. in Miami also said that to live till 100, you must mix the
parsley with this beverage, what beverage is that? Head online to Amazon.com/the kindle

store and type The 101 Best Ways to Live Till 100 in the search bar.
Download it and you'll also learn how actress Cameron Diaz plans on living till 100.

* Dill-
Often overlooked as an herb, the lowly herb dill puts an end to intestinal cramps,

working just like an antibiotic to kill off harmful intestinal bacteria like E Coli.
Pair it with carrots, beets, cream cheese, cucumbers, eggs and salmon.
* Basil-

Popular as ingredient in beloved pesto recipes, basil helps end minor aches and
pains, headaches and it can also put an end to blue and sour moods.
Yes, a natural antidepressant. Pair it with  Italian dishes, Pasta, bruschetta,
and slices of fresh mozzarella.
* Cilantro-
Popular in Spanish cultures, the sometimes criticized herb ("it tastes like soap")

can remove heavy metals, (mercury) and toxins from your blood. It can also put an end
to chronic fatigue, again- by purifying your blood.
And if you're a resident of a city with tons of pollution ( L.A. San Fran, Boston,
Bejing, Tokyo, N.Y. and Atlanta) really load up on this herb.
Pair it with guacamole, seafood, corn, black beans and steak.
* Ginger-
And last, but not least, the herb that's as popular in Jamaica as salt and pepper are

in the U.S. And if you're one who enjoys a good roller-coaster in the Summer, then
you need to drink and eat more ginger. It helps put an end to Nausea.
And if you're pregnant and experience morning sickness, (Kim K.)
ask your Dr. or
OB-Gyn if ginger is okay to take. Some say it is okay
and others say it may cause harm to the
baby.
Pair it citrus fruit, coconut, pork chops, pears, rice, relishes and teas. (green and black).

That's it, finishing off what the "Today show and Ms. Stewart" started.

Good Luck!

Hollywood's Other Red Rx For Better Health!

                                    Red For Better Health!

You may have noticed a lot of celebrities wearing red noses.
Why?
To help raise money for the less fortunate in Africa, the U.K. and
the U.S.
The charitable organization was started in England almost 3 decades ago and

it's finally made it's way to the U.S.
If you would like to donate, by all means do so, head online to Google.com
and type Red Nose site and look for a link there.

But, if you want the benefits of red for yourself and loved ones, then make
sure to eat and wear some red.
Eat and wear red, say what?

That's right, you can really bolster your health and your love life by eating
and wearing red.
First up, eating red.
We always hear about green veggies, green produce and green smoothies.

But what about red foods?
Well, there are cherries, and if you or a loved one is suffering from gout,
knee pain or insomnia, then you must eat a few cherries or drink some
tart cherry juice, (preferably mixed with water).
Now on to red cabbage, again it takes a back seat to it's more famous
relative- (green cabbage) but if you're concerned about memory loss
or plain old Alzheimer's, red cabbage can help prevent the loss of brain cells.
Red onions- Concerned about hair loss? A woman familiar with the Russian
remedy of using onion peels on one's scalp to keep locks luxurious,
found that using the peels and the juice from a red onion worked much better.
Important tip: make sure there are no cuts or abrasions on your scalp before using
the peels or the juice.
And then there are pomegranates- although they can be expensive, the seeds and juice
from this fruit can help keep your heart in tip-top shape and your skin looking
5 to 7 yrs. younger. The price of fresh pomegranates is much lower in the Fall,
stock up on them. Cut in half and squeeze the seeds for the the juice and place in
plastic containers and store the containers in your freezers.
And finally, red plums. (Yes, they're also purple or even black) and eating plenty of
plums can keep bones strong well into old age and protect skin from the Sun's harmful rays.
(yes, consider them natural sunscreen).

If you're wondering about apples, we've covered the subject awhile back, look for GMA's
Rx For Good Health. It's all about news anchor George Stephanopoulos and his
love of the red beauties.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Now onto wearing red.
Infertility, a problem for millions and the cost of treating it can run into the thousands,
if you or someone close to you is going through it, try wearing and adorning your bedroom
with red. As in red drapes, roses (fresh) red sheets, bedspreads and lingerie.

Why this color?
An Asian doctor practicing in England saw too many couples who struggled with infertility,

and that's when it came to him, stop giving them expensive meds and use only natural methods.
His suggestions...
place the couples on special diets, teach them strategies
to lower stress levels, (meditation and yoga) and use the color of love (red) more.
And lastly, if you're single and a frequent visitor to bars and nightclubs, and you're
not having any luck attracting eligible men, just wear red.
Some say red really attracts the men, and if you get too much attention, turn it down by
wearing pink.

That's it's for this beautiful and slightly chilly Saturday.
Remember- if you drink this holiday weekend, do it responsibly, and
use some beer on your meat, chicken and fish, it'll lower the cancer-causing agents
that seep into foods when cooking them at high temperatures.

And lastly, if you want more foods that'll help you keep skin cancer rates low,

head on over to Amazom.com/the kindle store and type--The Supermarket Foods
That'll  Prevent Skin Cancer, (Natural Sunscreen) in the search bar.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.

Good Luck!

Spring Allergies Rxs For A Morning Host!

                  Beat Spring Allergies Naturally!

Do you suffer from Spring allergies?
Well, join the crowd, you are not alone.
On this morning's "Good Morning America"
co-host Amy Robach revealed she was really suffering from allergies.

And if you want to reduce the wheezing, sneezing, watery eyes and other

symptoms, try natural methods.
That's right, yes the Claritin, Allegra and doctor prescribed meds can help,
but at what price?
In addition to becoming hooked on these meds, you may also lose a lot of money as well,
and that's why using all-natural remedies  is the best (and safest) option.

Not sure what natural methods to use, sit back and continue reading.
a) Bend A Little-
As in take up yoga. Wildly popular in Hollywood, the breathing exercises that you do
during a session can open up airways, unclog nasal passages and help you reduce stress.
Look for a yoga instructor in your hometown or go online, head to Youtube.com
and type yoga/breathing exercises in the search box. Or go to your local library
and see if there's a yoga DVD available.

b) Drink More-
No, not alcohol, but green tea or water. Green tea blocks allergy-triggering symptoms
like histamine and water-keeps you well hydrated, which helps reduce allergy symptoms
by 45%.

c) Go Paleo-
A number of people who follow the Paleo diet, (lean meats, eggs, vegetables, fruit,

nuts and good fats) have said that when Spring rolls around, they don't get any
of the allergy symptoms like they did in the past.
Some researchers say a diet loaded with white carbs. processed foods  and sweets make
allergy symptoms a hundred times worst.

That's it- 3 tips to help you and Ms. Robach get through the rest of Spring.
If you want some more natural methods like the ones listed above, just head to
Amazon.com/the kindle store and type Natural Cures To Beat Spring Allergies!
Make sure to read the chapter on the foods that make things much better and
the foods that'll keep you wheezing, sneezing, coughing and rubbing your eyes
well into June and July.

Morning Show Rx Your Eyes!

The "Today Show" and Aging Eyes!

If you watched The "Today Show" this morning, then you saw the segment
on aging. More specifically, aging too quickly.
One part of the body that will tell you you're aging too
quickly, are your eyes.  That's right, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, says
eyes that are dry and itchy, are one way to tell if you're
aging too quickly.

Dry eyes may not just be a sign of aging, they may also
be a sign you're sitting behind a computer for long stretches.
To fix it, have your eyes checked when you go for your next
physical and if the doctor doesn't see anything serious (glaucoma
or cataracts) then you can try the natural methods, what are they?
Eat more tuna, salmon and walnuts.
Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids provide your eyes with the necessary
lubrication you need especially as you age.
Important tip: If you prefer tuna over salmon, make sure to prepare
it in a way that benefits your eyes. No white bread or mayo, and make sure
to skip the chips and the sweet treats (soda, energy drinks, Twinkies
and Snicker bars).
All of these things will cause your eyes to breakdown rapidly.
Use plain yogurt or avocado as a bread spread.

And lastly, take time each day and blink.
Turn away from your computer and blink, this is also a great
way to keep eyes lubricated. Blink every 15 mins. 10 to 15 reps.

That's it, and if you want some more great tips on how to
avoid aging and live to 100, head to Amazon.com/the kindle store,
and type The 101 Best Ways To Make It To 100.
Learn how Frank Sinatra made it to age 85, despite a lifetime

of drinking, smoking, staying up till all hours and womanizing.

The Today Show's Rx For Beautiful Summer Skin!

                          End Dry Scaly Skin!

The "Today Show" cohost Savannah Guthrie hails from Arizona,
and although we're not sure she uses this product from her home
state it can help a lot of women out there.
The product: Prickly Pear.

The Prickly pear cactus plant is abundant in Arizona, (thanks to
yr. round sunshine) and it's being used to make juices (to help end
hangovers) and in beauty products.
And the subject of today's post is moisturizing Summer skin,
whether you live in Arizona or Kansas.
Prickly pear is rich in essential amino acids and water-binding
polysaccharides that hydrate and protect skin from harsh environmental
damage caused by the Sun.

To get the benefits and help your skin this Summer, head to
a health-food store (like Whole Foods) pick up a prickly pear
in the produce section, bring it home, peel it and mash it up in
a bowl. After mashing it, add a 1/4 of brown or white sugar,
head to the shower and scrub your problem areas.

The shoulders, your cheeks, (both sets) your forehead,
your thighs and your stomach. After scrubbing, turn on the water (warm)
rinse off, leave the shower and apply your moisturizer. (Olive, canola or Coconut oil).

Do this once or twice a week
and you'll keep skin smooth and youthful.
And one woman even mixes a little prickly pear with olive oil
and conditions her scalp, her hands and her nails.
One last tip, do the body scrubbing on the weekend, or on
your day off, why? It may cause some redness, you may want to
see how much redness will occur.

That's it, and for those out there concerned about Skin damage to

yourself or your kids. head to Amazon.com/the kindle store and
download a copy of The Supermarket Rxs To Sun-Proof Your Skin.Don't become a victim of the Sun, let food be your Sunscreen. See title to the right.

Matt Lauer's Rx For Women!

                        Matt Lauer's Favorite Food!

Matt Lauer just announced his favorite vegetable
on "The Today Show" this morning, what was it?
Brussels Sprouts.
That's right-what may be the "most hated vegetable" in the U.S.
is the favorite veggie of the morning news host.

The bitter taste is what turns a lot of people off, but if you prepare it
by pan frying it and then adding a sugary glaze, you can get a lot of
people who normally hated it to like or even love it.
Matt Lauer had it pan-fried  with some bacon and a glaze and it was
prepared by Food Network Chef- Giada De Laurentiis, and if you're a woman
who doesn't like it, you may want to eat it after reading the following news.
What is it?
It may help keep your thighs lean and trim.

Certain foods that trim the stomach have been written about for ages,
but nothing for the thighs.matt
But thanks to new research, that's about to change.
The researchers say that Brussel Sprouts have special compounds in them
that specifically target the problem area many women (and some men)
complain about-the thighs.

So, if you're not a Brussels Sprouts eater, and you suffer from a little extra
or a lot of skin on the thighs, you may have to become like Matt Lauer and
start eating the pint-sized cabbages.
And for those who want to eat them, but aren't sure how to

prepare them--go online to FoodNetwork.com or Google.com
and type Recipes for Brussels Sprouts in the search bar.

And lastly, don't forget to head to Amazon.com,/ the kindle store.
to download a copy of The World's Best Secrets To Never Getting Sick.
It's especially important for those who can't afford to get sick for
a day or a few days. Learn how people from "Faraway Places" get only

Today Show's Rx For Figuring Out Dreams!

                          Figuring Out Your Dreams!

The last hour of the "Today Show" has Kathy Lee Gifford and
Hoda Kotb as the hosts.
Ms. Kotb talked about a dream she has on a regular basis,
the dream: Being chased.
It's a common dream and a lot of people have it.
And what does being chased mean?

Dream experts say that it means unresolved feelings, like
feeling responsible or guilty for something even if it wasn't
your fault. Or it could be that you're a people- pleaser,
and sometimes tend to bottle up your feelings to make others
happy. And that's why it could be coming out in your subconscious.
So, how do you resolve the problem?

While you're having the dream, make sure and try and remember who's
chasing you. If it's a dog and you're not fearful of dogs, look at the dog,
and see his characteristics, like his face or coloring and see if the dog
reminds you of someone human.
Once you know what the person or circumstance this dream is about, you can
come to terms with it--and hopefully the dreams will stop.

And if you're not ready to confront the situation just yet?
While dreaming, just force yourself to stop running away.
Many times when you face the problems in your dreams, the inner issues
just fade away.

That's it- A simple solution to help resolve a common dream.
Hopefully, this info will help you and Hoda Kotb.

The Today Show's Rx For Finding Mr. Right!

                      Find Love Like Martha!

If you've been watching the "Today show" then you're aware that
they're trying to help Martha Stewart find Mr. Right.
If you're like Martha and want to find your own Mr. Right,
you may want to head to the supermarket.

The Supermarket?
Yes, that's right- a number of men were surveyed and were asked
the place they see women they might want to approach?
Their answer: the Supermarket, and to be more specific,
a lot of the men said the produce aisle was the place where they
spotted a lot of attractive women.

So ladies, if you're having trouble, but don't have the "Today show"
to help you, perhaps sticking around the kale, watercress, squash,
watermelons and blueberries will bring some luck.

The Today Show's Rx For A Longer Life!

                                       Pets For A Longer Life!

Hoda Kotbe, the host of the 4th hour of the "Today show" is filling in
this week and doing the first 3 hours as well.
One subject Ms. Kotbe talked about is near and dear to her
heart, what was it?
Pet adoption!
She added a new 4-legged friend to her family, and if you decide
to adopt or buy a dog, it can help you live a long life.

Look below, and learn how a dog can extend your life...
a) A Healthier Heart-
Pets can lower your production of artery damaging stress hormones,
such as cortisol. And fewer damaging hormones means lower
blood pressure, and reduce your risk of having a heart attack.
b) Fewer Colds and Flu-
Yes, that's right- being exposed to animal hair and dander keeps

your immune system in great shape and that helps you fight the invading
viruses.
c) Less Stress-
Suffer from stress or anxiety? A pet can help calm you down and calm
your nervous system. A pet can lower anxiety by 25%.
Can you name a star who suffers from anxiety and owns cats?
Taylor Swift.
d) A Leaner Figure-
Not motivated to walk or spend time outdoors?
Get a dog and they'll lead you to their leash and that will result
in a slimmer waistline. Another benefit: Walking a dog on a leash
burns 75 more calories per hr. than walking alone.
And yes, playing on the floor with a cat also counts.
e) Benefit for Kids-
Concerned about your kids and allergies?
Well, you may have to get a pet. Why? regular exposure
to animal dander trains a child's immune system to stay calm
when harmless substances (like dander, dust and pollen) are in the air-
and to focus, instead of tackling the true troublemakers-like germs, bacteria
and fungi.

So, if you weren't sure whether you wanted a dog or not,

perhaps the information you just read will help change your mind.
It worked for Hoda Kotbe.

Good Luck!

The Today Show's Rx To Relieve Stress!

Draw Your Way To Less Stress!

If you're a fan of the "Today" show, are you catching the segment they're
doing on lessons learned from family members.
On this morning's show-it was Al Roeker's turn. The lesson he learned from
his late father, learn to draw.

Yes, that kind of drawing, whether it's a cartoon, an animal or a human.
In fact, Al Roeker says that he doodles something everyday.

And whether he knows it or not, Mr. Roeker is on to something, that
something: doodling can relieve stress and help put you at ease before
heading out into traffic or to the office or classroom.

How so? Researchers say that doodling a smiling face or something
else that's positive helps take your mind off something that may cause
stress.
And doodling a smiling face will help put a smile on your face, but here are
some more types of doodles that can benefit your health.

a) A triangle- Drawing upside down triangles is a great way to relieve
the stress before giving a speech or giving a presentation at work.
b) Figure 8's- drawing figure 8's allover a large piece of paper,
helps boost memory. In fact, some doctors use the figure 8 drawings
as a non-medicinal way to help those with memory loss.
c) Helping Kids- Do your kids have a lot of energy? Are they sniping and picking
at each other on a regular basis? Give them large pieces of paper, some
markers  and let them get creative. Kids who focus on putting pen to paper
won't focus on trying to annoy one another.
d) Nature Scenes-

Taylor Swift who talks about her battles with anxiety, said that thinking
about the times spent outdoors with her parents selling Christmas trees,
helps calm her down and puts an end to the anxiety.  So, if you're one who
stresses quite regularly, draw some things that remind you of the outdoors...
trees, a lake or a beautiful sunset.
That's it- Another lesson learned from the folks at "The Today Show."

Good Luck!

The Today Show's Rxs TO Prevent Colds!

Stay Cold and Flu-Free Like Matt Lauer!

It's no secret, Matt Lauer doesn't like germs. He isn't alone,
some other famous "germaphobes"- Howie Mandel and Donald

Trump.
Trying to avoid all germs can be quite a task and honestly,
it's better to spend time on other things, but since we are
going through the cold and flu season, it's still wise to know

where the germs are lurking.
Yes, we know about shopping cart handles and the handle from
a toilet, but there some other "germ hot spots" you may not know about,
hot spots like...

a) The Vacuum Cleaner-
Not the handle, but the brushes. Using the brushes day in and day out
and not cleaning them, can put you and your familys' healthy at risk.
Clean the brushes once every two weeks, spray them with a
disinfecting spray.

b) Eating At Restaurants-
Whether it's MacDonalds or a four-star restaurant, beware of certain
items, like...the salt and pepper shakers, the condiment bottles
and at MacDonald's- the trays.
c) Public Restrooms-
Think it's the toilet seat or handle? It can be, but it's the soap dispenser.

The number of times the toilet is flushed and then sprays all over the place.
The spraying of germs reaches the soap dispenser.
Bring your own handi-wipes and avoid the soap dispenser.
d) Hotels-
You have to travel, but beware. Yes, the sheets and bathroom pose a problem,

but also be careful before using the light switches, the T.V. remote and
the keys or key pads. Bring some disinfecting wipes and do your own cleaning.
