Media Mogul's Rx To Avoid Winter Weight Gain!

                                    Do Not Gain Weight This Winter! 

You're probably well aware of the fact that media titan Oprah Winfrey
is now a big shareholder and member of Weight Watchers.
And you're also probably aware of the fact that she's lost 25 pounds so far,
all while eating one of her favorite foods. 

What food is that?
Bread. 


But hold on, Ms. Winfrey isn't telling you the whole truth, 
and what truth is that?
She's admitted in the past that potatoes are her favorite food.
And why is this news?
Well, according to new research,  eating potatoes (especially right now)
may be better for you,  in regards to weight.

Say what? Potatoes to lose weight.
Yes,  researchers studied German people and found that Germans eat twice as many
potatoes as their American brothers and sisters and are 90% less likely to
be overweight.
It's true, you may have been told to stay away from potatoes, but according
to this new research, it's simply not true that eating potatoes cause weight gain.
The researchers say that potatoes contain tryptophan, magnesium, and potassium--

nutrients that keep you full and boost your metabolism. 
Another plus, eating a potato  an hour before bed will help you
get to sleep and stay asleep.

So, are you convinced? Are you ready to add more potatoes to your daily
menus? If so, just remember to have them baked, boiled, steamed, or fried
with a little amount of oil. Also important-- skip the big burgers, (mainly the 

buns) the 30 oz. soda or fruit juice and the sweet treat, (hot apple pie).
Bake them and add some sour cream, salsa or guacamole.

T.V. Host's Rx For Burning More Calories!

This is the last year you'll see David Letterman on the air as a regular
talk show host. He may do an appearance on "The View" Or "Jimmy Kimmel"
but come Sept. and it'll be the "Stephen Colbert" show.
Don't feel too bad for Mr. Letterman, he'll leave with 30 plus years of great memories
and hundreds of millions in his bank account. 


And if there's one thing we can say we learned from watching Mr. Letterman is
that he taught us something about weight loss.
Oh no, it's not his infamous "top ten list" it's that he loved to keep the theater
cold/
A cold theater? What's the lesson there?

Well, Mr. Letterman may have used this strategy to keep his guests, his audience
and himself awake and interested, but no so new research says that spending time
or even sleeping in a cold room can really boost your metabolism.

If you're a woman, you may know about "cold therapy" you know,
putting stockings in the freezer, hoping they'll last longer.
It's not a myth, there are a number of benefits that we can get from the cold,
benefits like...
* You won't age as quickly.
* Less wrinkles and tighter skin. (it's rumored macho movie star and grand dame
movie star- Paul Newman and Joan Crawford) dunked their faces in ice water
to look ten or more yrs younger.
* Batteries and Cigarettes- It's even rumored that batteries and cigarettes (a no-no)
last longer if you put them in the freezer first.
* A stronger Immune system- Why do think the people of Finland, Russia,
Denmark and Iceland are able to deal with unbearable Winters? Cold baths
and showers. That's right, in some of these countries, the people jump into a cold bath

or turn down the water in their shower. This builds up the
immune system, helping you fight off colds and other diseases.
* Stronger Fertility- Men who have slow-moving or damaged sperm
may be able to turn things around by taking cold baths or placing ice on their,
you know.
*Faster Recovery- It's also rumored that the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA
championship, thanks in part to getting cold treatments after each game.
And now, cold weather can help you keep your metabolism humming along 

like it did when you were when you were 15 or 18.
Sleeping in a 66 degree room for 30 days led to a 40% increase in the production
of and activity of brown fat, a healthy fat that burns calories instead of holding onto 

them. And sleeping in a warm room- shuts down brown fat.

So, if you need another weapon in your arsenal against fat, this
may be it. 

And for those who love 3 or more blankets, and the room hot, hot and hotter,
(Ladies) you may want to start eating and drinking ginger (ginger tea). 

Why? It's the one spice that works to really warm up your toes, fingers,
etc. Or you can have your thyroid tested, just to make sure everything is working properly.
Hey, it worked for David Letterman, of all the yrs. he's been on the air,
how many times have you ever seen him carrying extra weight?

subject that affecting a lot of people. The subject: How to relieve stress.
According to new research, more and more people are dealing with stress.

Wendy Williams Rx For Firming Up!

Wendy Williams the outspoken and (loud) talk show host makes no secret
of her struggles with weight. The reason for that struggle: she loves food.
Fortunately, Ms. Williams engages in an activity that helps keep her slim,

and firms up her thighs to boot.

The activity: Playing basketball!
How does basketball help with over-all slimming?
Jogging back and forth, the jumping activates deep muscle fibers
in the quadriceps and hamstrings. This helps creates definition
in the back of the legs and helps get rid of those jiggling thighs,


And to really make basketball work for you, make sure when you
shoot to push through your shoulders while fully extending both
of your arms overhead. This action will improve your shot
accuracy and define your chest, giving a boost to your bust area.

So, if you want thinner thighs and a firmer chest, do what Wendy Williams
does and hit the court, The basketball court.
Also important: If you haven't exercised in awhile, it's best to go slow
when starting out.
