The Dallas Buyer's Club Rx To Winning Money!

                  Make Money Like Mrs. McConaughey!

The movie "The Dallas Buyer's Club" seems to be the
front runner at this year's Oscar race.
It also seems the 2 stars--Matthew McConaughey and
Jared Leto are shoo-ins to win Oscars.
But enough about Matthew and Jared, this post is really
about Mrs. McConaughey, aka Camila Alves.

She's a Brazilian beauty, wife, mom, handbag designer
and Scratch-off aficionado.
What's that... exactly what it says, Ms. Alves, while co-hosting

the T.V. show--"The View" revealed to the panel, that she's
loves buying Scratch-off tickets.

In fact, she co-hosted the show on Whoopi Goldberg's birthday
and gave Whoopi and the rest of the panel a few scratch-offs.
And then, Whoopi revealed that she too, loves playing scratch-off
tickets.

What's the point of this blog post?
Well, according to some lottery experts, playing scratch-offs
may be a better option for you. Better than the Powerball
or Mega-Millions games.

Why?
Lottery games like Mega Millions requires you to pick
5 numbers that go from 1 to 75 and 1 bottom number
that goes up to 15. But scratch-offs, have winners
most of the time.
And to increase your odds, experts say buy scratch-offs

from the same row, no 1 scratch- off here, or 2 scratch- offs
there. Buying 5, 8 or even 10 tickets from the same game,
increases your odds of winning considerably.

And if you want more info on ways to increase your
scratch-off luck, head to Amazon.com. the kindle store
and look for a book by the author Richard Lustig.
And if you want to know how to change your negative
attitudes and invite more financial luck into your life,
look for the E-document, Mind Over Money,
Use the Power of Your Mind To Boost Your Finances!

That's it- and remember to watch the Oscars, and see if
Matthew and Jared win their own lotteries (i.e. an Oscar).

Good Luck!

The View's Rx For Happier Families!

                 Eat This To Boost Happiness!

On this morning's edition of "Good Morning America" host Robin
Roberts interviewed "The View's" cohost--Sherri Shepard.
Ms. Shepard was promoting her new book-- "Plan D, How to lose
weight and beat Diabetes."

In the book, Ms. Shepard tells you how she lost 40 lbs. and
keeps her diabetes under control using good natural foods
and Exercise.

One of the tips Sherri gave Robin wasn't just a great diet tip,

it was a tip that can also bring more peace and harmony to the
Kitchen table.

The tip:
Serve natural peanut butter, milk, eggs, tofu, bananas, chicken,
turkey and cheese at breakfast.
Why?
These foods are rich in Tryptophan, (a familiar word to most, during

Thanksgiving) and the more tryptophan coursing through one's
system, helps speed up the release of brain chemicals that increase
feelings of trust and cooperation.

So, if you're morning meals are plagued with bickering and
constant name calling, then it's time to bring in the Tryptophan-rich
foods.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx For a Beautiful Mind!

                      Avoid Alzheimer's Like Whoopi!

Concerned about Alzheimer's? So are a lot of people.
Well, believe it or not, Whoopi Goldberg's favorite beverage
may be the preventive medicine you need.
What is it?

Vegetable Juice.

Ms. Goldberg like Jay Leno is a "vegetable hater" and since she doesn't
eat them, she was advised to drink her vegetables.
And today, The American Journal of Medicine says that 2 to 3 glasses of
vegetable juice a day, reduces your odds of getting Alzheimer's by 75%.
Vegetable juice whether it's from a can or your own juicer provides your brain
with vital nutrients.

And lastly, just because you add vegetable juice, it's still wise to
watch the bad carbs (white foods) harmful trans-fats, foods with
dyes and  high fructose corn syrup.
More tips:Exercise, and if you smoke Quit, ( Whoopi did) and if you
don't smoke, keep it that way.
That's it- follow these tips and hopefully you'll never know
the pain and heartache of Alzheimer's.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx For Younger Looking Skin!

                           Turn Back The Clock!

If you've been tuning into the T.V. show--"The View" then you're
well aware that Jenny McCarthy is now a regular panelist.
This morning, they had Dr. Phil on and they talked about Botox
for crow's feet. You may know about Botox being used for the region
between the eyes, but crow's feet?
Injecting anything to close to the eyes, could mean disaster down the road.
As the ladies talked, Whoopi asked "why do it"? And Barbara replied
"black doesn't crack" which means black skin lasts longer and then
Jenny mentioned she's had some work done. At 41, Ms. McCarthy may
seem too young, but if she's of European descent, then it means her skin is
thinner.

If you're of European descent, or under 40 or you just want to keep your
skin looking it's best, use the following food Rx.

What is it?
Apples and milk.

We may have posted on this 2 food combo in the past, but it needs to be repeated.
A woman traveling overseas (to India)  noticed that a group of women, some in
their 20's, 30's 40's 50's and 60's all had beautiful skin, so she asked about their secrets
and was told- that they eat 1 to 5 apples everyday.
Apples for beautiful skin, she asked?
She came home, did some research and found out that it was true.
But she knew women in the U.S. weren't going to eat 3 to 5 apples a day.
So she researched and researched and came up with a mask that would work
just as well, and the best part: you don't have to eat any apples.

Her Apple Mask For Beautiful Skin.
Peel an apple, rinse it off and cut the apple into slices about 1/4 thick,
place the slices into a small saucepan and add 1/4 cup of milk.
Heat the apple and milk for about 3 mins. (do not let it boil) and then
remove from the heat. Let cool for a few mins.
Take the apple slices, find a comfortable chair and then place the
slices on your face (around the eyes as well) and neck and
back of hands (if you have extra).

Stay put for 15 to 20 mins. and then remove the apple slices,
Rinse off or wash your face and then add moisturizer.
Do this a few times a wk. and then once a week for maintenance.
And as the female traveler said, "if you start in your 20's you should
remain wrinkle-free for life."

Some more tips:
*Now that the apple season is here, stock up.
* If you're already wrinkled, it probably won't work.
* Avocados may work even better, but they're more expensive
   and a lot messier.
*And yes, eating them will also work, especially the peel,
just make sure to wash them well.
* If you have buttermilk, use it, buttermilk helps remove age spots.
* Buy some apple cider this Fall, it helps prevents certain female cancers
by 70%. Read more about it @SupermarketRxs@typepad.com

Good Luck!

The Hollywood Moms Rx For Building Stronger Babies!

                            The Benefits of Breast Feeding!

To breastfeed or not to breastfeed, just talking about it can

cause serious arguments.
Do you remember "supermodel" Gisele Bunchen's comment on
"making all moms do it for at least 6 months."

That didn't go over too well, especially with Whoopi Goldberg from
"The View."

Well, if you're a new mom like Kim Kardashian or plan on becoming
one in the next few months or next yr. you may want to breastfeed,
why?
According to new research-it benefits both mom and newborns.
That's right- for newborns...
a) higher IQs
b) fewer ear infections
c) stronger bones
d) less prone to get allergies
e) less likely to be overweight as an adult
benefits for moms...
a) less likely to suffer postpartum
b) lose the baby weight more quickly- (see Kate Middleton)
c) and lower rates of diabetes and certain cancers-especially
cancers of the breasts and ovaries.

So ladies, if you weren't too keen on breastfeeding,
perhaps this info will help.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx To Prevent Diabetes!

A Simple Solution To Avoid Diabetes!

Sherri Shepherd from the T.V. "The View" is making the rounds
with her new book... Plan D- How to Lose Weight and Beat Diabetes
 (at Amazon.com)
It's all about  her struggles with diabetes, gives you some recipes and
reveals her exercise program.
Type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes now affect more than 100 million Americans,

and many aren't aware they have it.
If you want to avoid the path of counting calories, taking your blood sugar,
eating low-cal and exercising 5 days a week, do something you're already
doing, but just do more of it.
What is it? Sleep more. That's right- getting 7 to 8 hours every night
shields you from insulin resistance-a condition that makes you more
prone to developing full-blown diabetes.

And get this--skimp on sleep for 4 or 5 days and you become 30%
less sensitive to the hormone insulin-the same as folks diagnosed
with diabetes. What's the link-Without enough sleep, fat cells become
sluggish and unable to respond to and use insulin efficiently.
And in addition to the more sleep cure, do something else that will help
you prevent diabetes as well, what is it? Drink more. As in water.
Drink about 4 to 6 glasses of water (8 oz.) and the less likely you are
to develop high blood sugar problems and that's a main factor
for getting pre-diabetes. Water reduces a hormone that raises blood
sugar levels.

That's it- 2 simple solutions to preventing a serious disease.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx For Safer Nail Polish!

                              Applying Safer Nail Polish!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck of the T.V. show-"The View" revealed
that she loves getting manicures with gel nail polish.
Unfortunately, there's a problem with these types of manicures,
what is it? You need to hold your fingers under special UV lights,
and doing it for months or even yrs, raises your risk of skin cancer.

Yes, it's the same as lying on a tanning bed, but it's not your body
that's exposed, it's your hands.
And if you're a fan --like Ms. Hasselbeck, there's a safer alternative.

Head to a beauty supply store or drugstore and pick up the new
UV-free gel polish. It delivers the same smudge-resistant results at
home in half the time. With the at-home kit, you apply a coat of
"activator" before the gel, then let the two meet and mingle
and this creates a rock-hard finish that rivals any professional
manicure.
Brand to try: Nutra Nail Gel Perfect, price $12.00.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx For Beautiful Skin!

                                 Go Gluten-Free Like Elisabeth!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck, one of the cohost of the popular morning
show-"The View" makes no secret about her gluten-free diet.

She's been gluten-free for a decade now and she credits the
diet for literally changing her life.
If you been thinking about going gluten-free part time or
full time make sure to include some buckwheat in
your meal planning.

Why buckwheat?
Contrary to it's name- buckwheat is gluten-free and just
published research says that buckwheat's immunity-bolstering compounds
called polyphenols reverse premature aging.

So, if you're concerned about aging skin, include more buckwheat
in your diet. Use it to make pancakes, bread and muffins, or add
cooked buckwheat kernels (kasha) to soup or stews.

One more tip: If you use buckwheat to make bread, muffins or pancakes,
just be careful with the sugar. Sugar tears down delicate arteries

on your face and body, aging you much more quickly.

Good Luck!

Hollywood Rxs To End Insomnia!

                      Getting Sleep In Hollywood!

Some in Hollywood may live charmed lives, and yet, have the same problems
as the rest of society. What type of problems? Insomnia!
That's right- Getting enough sleep is a problem some stars go through
just like regular folks. Two stars who come to mind- Whoopi Goldberg and

Jay Leno.
Whoopi Goldberg has mentioned on "The View" that she sleeps upright
in a chair for an hour or two and Jay Leno says he only needs 5 to 6 hours
a night. Another interesting fact that Whoopi and Jay share-they both hate and
refuse to eat vegetables.

Back to the topic- Whoopi and Jay may think that a few hours here or a few
hours there, is alright, but they're sadly mistaken, getting less than 7 hours of sleep
can put you at risk for a host of illnesses like...

a) Increased risk of heart disease and heart attacks.
b) Increased risk of stroke.

c) Diabetes.
d) Weight Gain. (especially belly fat).
e) Some Cancers-(especially breast cancer)
f) Memory problems
g) Dementia

h) Anxiety and other mood disorders
i) And some other serious health woes.

So, are you like Whoopi and Jay? Do you want to go the prescribed med
route?  Taking a drug like Halcion or Ambien over a long period of
time can also raise your risk of heart trouble and stroke, simply because
they're relatively new to the market and aren't meant to be taken for yrs. and
yrs. Or do try something natural like a certain yoga move, or a sweet Summer  fruit
juice (instead of milk) or massaging this part of your body and be asleep within minutes.
How do you find these all natural methods?
Go to Amazon.com/ the Kindle store and type in The 99 Best
Natural Remedies To Beat Insomnia!  Title above
Once there, download it to your Kindle E-reader and get started on
a life where 7 to 8 hrs of sleep is normal.

Now,  we have to get this info to Jay and Whoopi.

Hollywood's Rx To Quit Smoking For Good!

                   Exercise Rx To Quit Smoking!

If you're a fan of the T.V. show-"The View" then you're aware
that co-host Whoopi Goldberg is trying to stop smoking...again.
Ms. Goldberg is lucky that she's able to afford alternative treatments
that a lot of folks can't afford. Plus, she has the eyes of millions of people
watching her and that may or may not be a good thing.

One thing Ms. Goldberg should try is exercise.
Yes exercise, over 1, 000 people who were followed while trying to

quit smoking, named exercise as the best remedy that helped them
avoid lighting up...for good.

Why exercise? A brisk walk, a bike ride or swimming for 30 mins.
helps you boost endorphins, the feel good chemicals your brain

produces. And since you're getting them (the endorphins) from exercise
and not smoking, you're more likely to stick with it.

So, if you too, are struggling like Ms. Goldberg and want to quit for
good, look into walking, bike riding or doing some power yoga
3 to 5 times a week.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx To Lower Arthritis Risks!

                         Prevent Arthritis Easily!

The T.V. show "The View" started another season and
a tip from cohost Sheri Shepard may help you
avoid a debilitating illness.
The Tip: Floss and floss often.
Sheri Shepard makes no secret of the fact she flosses
anywhere from 3 to 5 times a day.

Not only does it keep food from attaching to teeth,
flossing also keeps gums strong and new research says it
can lower your risk of developing arthritis.
That's right- removing food particles from gums prevents
it from traveling down into joints and causing all kinds of problems.

So, if you've been avoiding dental floss, take a tip from
Sheri Shepard and floss more, not 3 to 5 times, but once or twice
a day and avoid rheumatoid arthritis.

Good Luck!

people are suffering from the fastest growing illness known as stress.

Food Rx For Hollywood Smokers!

Eat This If You Still Smoke!

Hollywood the land of beautiful people also has a few stars
that still smoke. With the constant concern about looking
good and staying youthful, you think they'd quit ASAP.

But that's not the case, stars like Jennifer Aniston,
Ben Affleck and Chelsea Handler quit a few yrs. ago,
or just recently.

And stars like Scarlett Johansson, Whoopi Goldberg,
and Sean Penn are still doing it.
If you are still smoking like Sean, Whoopi or Scarlett make sure to

eat the food that'll help protect your lungs.

The Food: Broccoli!
That's right- the lowly regarded broccoli shields lungs from the
damaging inflammation triggered by tobacco smoke and slows
the development of a serious condition called COPD,

or the long version-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
And one more benefit of broccoli: It'll help you live to a ripe
old age.

So, if you're still smoking and don't plan on quitting,

make sure to eat some broccoli a few times a week, and
if you have the e-mail addresses of Sean Penn and Scarlett
Johansson, please pass this info on to them.
As for Whoopi G. she's hates all vegetables.

Good Luck!

The View's Rx To Prevent Cancer!

                  Gum Therapy By Sherri Shepard!

Are you a fan of the T.V. show "The View?"
Who's your favorite? Whoopi, Elisabeth, Joy, Barbara or Sherri!
If you watched The View on Thursday then you heard Ms. Shepard
say she's obsessed with flossing.
She does it about 5 to 7 times a day. Why so many times a day?
She had a guest on that told the hosts that flossing is not only
good for oral hygiene, but removing food from the gums keeps
your heart healthy.

A special note to Sherri- massaging the gums with a clean finger,
or a waterpik is also great for keeping your gums pink and healthy.

And now back to the flossing- Flossing once or twice a day, cuts your
risk of pancreatic cancer by a whopping 60%.
Bacteria sneaks into the bloodstream, then lodge in the pancreas and
does considerable damage to your cells.

And flossing once or twice a day, sweep those troublemaking germs out of
your mouth.

That's it- A flossing tip to keep your heart in tip-top shape
and help you prevent pancreatic cancer as well.
