Hollywood's Breakfast Rx To Prevent Skin Cancer!

                         Drink Your Sunscreen!

The constant talk about wearing sunscreen must be getting old
for a lot of you. You know, wear 30 SPF, no-50 SPF, or make sure to apply

it to areas that you normally neglect...to your ears, scalp, soles of your feet, etc.

If you're concerned about what all of that sunscreen is doing to you
and want something healthier and all-natural, then you may want to

do something a number of stars do on a regular basis, what is that,
you ask?

They drink...Smoothies.
Yes, you can make smoothies that contain ingredients that'll protect
your skin from the harmful Summer rays.

What type of smoothies?
Well, if you want to shield your skin from UV rays, add some watermelon and lemon
zest to your smoothie.
Want to lower your risk of ever getting skin cancer?
Add green tea and blueberries to your smoothie.

And to get you started, here's a recipe for a Sun-shielding smoothie.
The Smoothie:

A Watermelon-Lemonade Smoothie!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of watermelon, (preferably seedless)
1 tsp. lemon zest (make sure to clean the peel thoroughly)
2 Tbs fresh lemon juice
1 Tbs. chia seeds
2 tsp. agave nectar or dark honey
1 cup of Ice
---------------------------------------------
Directions:

Add all ingredients (except the ice) to a blender,
blend until smooth. Add the Ice cubes and blend for 30 more secs.
Pour into 2 or 3 glasses and enjoy.
=============================================
Benefits of the ingredients...
* watermelon- contains lycopene, a UV-blocking antioxidant.
* chia seeds- contain omega-3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation and
are soothing to your skin.

* lemon zest- contains special compounds that also protect your skin
from the Sun's most dangerous rays. Lime, orange, and tangerine peels
also work.

Additional information-
Medical researchers say that 15 to 20 mins. of sun exposure (without Sunscreen)
 is beneficial
for most people.
Want to learn more about the benefits of fruit peels, (zest)
head to Amazon.com/the kindle store and type The Discarded
Superfoods in the search bar.
Also look for The  Supermarket Rxs To Sun-Proof
Your Skin. Or look at the bag, available at

Natural Hair Care Tips For The Older Actress!

Maintain Your Hair As You Get Older!

You may have heard- many actresses will do any and everything to hold
onto their youth.
Wait, you're shocked by this?
Don't be, they consider their faces and bodies the machines (or equipment)
that makes them those high salaries, so they have to keep that equipment

in tip-top shape.

The latest news out of Hollywood is that one star (popular in the 80's and
early 90's) is tired of fighting this battle and has decided to let nature
take its course and let the grays come through and the lines on her face show.
That's right, no more hair coloring, no more Botox or fillers,
or hrs. doing Pilates.
The star: Demi Moore.

It's rumored her younger boyfriend and kids conducted an intervention
and let it be known that she'll continue to be beautiful even with
gray hair and wrinkles around her eyes and upper lip, so please
stop it. And if you're like Ms. Moore and are going through
the same thing (you know- frequent trips to the hairdresser) there's
something you can do that's safer, cheaper and less time consuming.

What is it?
Use Food!
Try using foods from your local supermarket to help keep your hair

looking like it's in its late 20's or early 30's.
For decades- many women have relied on foods to help keep their manes looking
youthful, and it (food) should be able to do the same for you as well.
Important tip: Before starting any of the natural remedies listed below,
you must eat a diet that's as close to nature as possible,
in other words, frequent trips to Mickey D's, Pizza Hut and
Krispy Kreme will only hurt your odds of having great looking hair.

First up, the onion treatment.
More specifically- red onions for thick and luxurious hair.
You may have heard about onions for great looking hair,
but some researchers say red onions work best.
To make an onion mask all you have to do is peel a red onion
and then run it through a juicer or blender.
Strain it and then apply the onion juice to your clean hair.
Make sure you don't have nay cuts or bruises as onions will sting
and leave it on for 20 to 30 mins. You may want to place a shower
cap on to hold the onion juices in.

After the 30 mins. are up- wash out the onion juice using your
favorite shampoo.
Save any leftover juice (place in clean jar) refrigerate it and
use 2 to 3 times a week.

Next up, a tip from Russia.
A young woman from Russia moved to the U.S. as a young girl
and at 16 she got a job as a camp counselor.
She loved the job but didn't love what all of that Sun did to her hair...
It made it dry and limp.
Luckily, she remembered a tip her grandmother used to make

hair thick, shinny and luxurious--the tip...
Get 2 pieces of pumpernickle bread, place them is a shallow dish,

add some water (enough to cover the bread) wait until
all the water is absorbed and then apply to your scalp.

Put on a shower curtain and  sit still for 20 mins. after that,
shampoo your hair as you normally would.
Do this 2 to 3 times a week for best results.

And now to reversing or even preventing gray hair.
Allowing the gray hair to show is what frightened Ms. Moore the
most, (according to insiders) and if you're starting to see some

grays and are totally opposed to chemically harsh dyes,
head to the supermarket and pick up some black sesame seeds
and blackstrap molasses.
Many women and (men) are seeing their hair return to their normal
colors after eating these 2 foods.
Add them to smoothies or bowls of oatmeal.
Black sesame seeds are very popular in Asian countries and this may explain
why you don't see
many grey-haired Asians.
You may also want to try wheat grass, one woman
said she had a shot of wheatgrass juice starting in her 50's and

today at 70, she still doesn't have any gray hair.
Go online to learn more about wheatgrass juice (even how to grow
your own) and keep your hair looking ten or more yrs. younger.

That's it- for now, and hopefully at a later time, there will be more on food and haircare,
like how giving up carbs may prevent discoloration and thinning.

One last tip: You may want to head to Amazoncom/the kindle store
and type Hollywood Beauty in the search bar.
Download it and learn how some top Hollywood makeup artists
help a number of stars look way younger than their actual ages.
You;ll learn about both hair and makeup tips.

Good Luck!

Talk Show Host's Rx For Choosing Summer Wines!

The Right Wine For Your Barbecue!

Yes, the title is correct, wine and barbecue may not seem like
they go together, but they do.
And if you're really serious about wine like talk show host
Loni Love (cohost of "The Real") then you really

have to read this post.

Pairing wine with ribs, salmon or chicken will certainly make it (the meat
or fish) taste better and if you're not sure how to do it,

here's a simple guide...
a) Ribs-
Most people prefer a big, cold mug of beer with their ribs, but
choose a Zinfandel and watch how excited your taste buds will be.
b) Salmon-
If you're using a honey, mustard glaze on your fish, try a
Chardonnay to wash it down.
c) Shrimp-
Are you planning on having shrimp kebabs or a shrimp salad?
Make sure to pair the shrimp with Riesling. This wine's balance
of acidity and fruit flavors resonate with a similar chord
struck between the citrus and sweetness of a lemony-flavored
shrimp. Plus, this wine has a hint of pepper-just enough to stand
up to the grill smoke.
d) Burgers-
You may prefer kool-aid, soda or beer with your burgers, but try something

different-like...Merlot.
This wine especially complements the relish or ketchup you
choose for your burger.

That's it- and if you're familiar with high heat from the grill and

increased rates of cancer, then you'll certainly want to add some wine.
Add it as a marinade.
Yes, marinating meat in wine, beer, or even root beer (for a few hrs. or
overnite) can help protect you from taking in all of those carcinogens from

a hot charcoal grill.
Also helpful- add some mustard, olive oil and garlic (all of which offer you more
protection from certain cancers) to your marinade
as well.

Good Luck!

An Actor's Unusual Rx For Healing!

                    Be Like Mark & Pray!

Many people may not know this but actor Mark Wahlberg is a Christian.
Nothing unusual about that, but we don't mean church once a week, no- we're talking about someone who goes to to church
everyday (early in the morning) to say a prayer and to say thanks for all of the blessings in his life.

This wasn't always the case- Mr. Wahlberg was once a troubled, violent kid who was looking at some serious jail time, but
thanks to family, (brother Donnie, Mom and Hollywood) and recommitting himself to religion, Mr.Wahlberg was
able to turn things around.

You may still be a disbeliever and that's okay, but if weight is
an issue and you're really struggling, perhaps a
prayer may be able to help you overcome (overeating, bored eating, etc).
that's right- a prayer... just look below and read the prayer
on the bag you see listed to the right, and then head to Zazzle.com
and pick up that bag.

And one last tip--
There's also a bag there for couples struggling with infertility,
look for the bag, order it and you'll get the complete prayer.
(Send us a note at this site--that you want that specific bag
and we'll put the rest of the prayer up for you)
Hey, a prayer that might work is certainly easier, cheaper
and safer than infertility treatments.

Good Luck!

Singer's Favorite Citrus Fruit Rx For Weight Loss!

                               Drink That Lemonade!

We're still not sure of the Beyonce-inspired lemonade campaign,
but we are sure that if weight loss or weight maintenance is a concern
this Summer, you must incorporate more citrus into your meals
and especially your drinks.

That's right- forgo the pina coladas and margaritas this Summer season

and have mocktails?
What are those?
Non-alcoholic drinks.

And why must you use more lemon and limes this Summer?
Because it (citrus) helps you fight stubborn fat 3 ways...

excessive fat.
* It boost liver function- Increase liver's ability  to expel

more toxins, toxins that may cause that weight gain in the 1st place.
* Stabilize Blood Sugar Levels-
Avoid the rapid sugar highs and lows with citrus, doing so makes it

easier to lose and manage weight, plus, steady blood sugar levels
means lower odds of becoming a diabetic.

So, are you ready to take on the lemonade (and limeade) challenge?
If so, here's a mocktail to get you started...

1 Tbs. raw honey or real maple syrup, Optional.
Directions:
Chill a glass for 30 to 60 mins. before starting.
And in a large bowl, muddle the first 3 ingredients.
To muddle-

from the citrus and mint and makes the drink taste better.
Add these ingredients to the chilled glass, add the lemon and lime

juice, the cold water,  and the honey or syrup.
Stir well and if you like- add a few ice cubes and a sprig of mint, or

Former supermodel and T.V.  personality  Tyra Banks isn't as visible as she
once was, and one of the reasons for that is she's a new mom.

If you're like Tyra and a new mom or if you're ready to send your last
kid off to college and want to lose a few pounds and boost energy levels,
have a fruity snack.

A fruity snack?
Yes, the one Tyra can't live without is a fruit snack.
A fruit snack that's made with fruit puree, (not fruit flavorings
and lots of sugar.
Ms. loves to snack and swears that Matt's Munchies Premium

Sitcom Star's Rx For Beating Sweet Cravings!

Come and Knock at My Door!

If you were around in the late 70's, then you were probably

watching the T.V. show- 3's Company, or maybe you're
watching it now, thanks to a number of channels showing
it over and over again.

It was a show about a bachelor (actor John Ritter)
living with 2 sexy women, (Suzanne Somers and Joyce Dewitt)
what's so unusual about that?
The landlord,  (Norman Fell) was not going to let an unmarried

man share an apartment with 2 unmarried women,  so Bachelor
Jack had to pretend to be gay.

Well, enough with the nostalgia trip, you may (or may not)
remember that Suzanne Somers was fired from the show
for demanding a salary that was the same as Larry Hagman's,
you know J.R. Ewing.
The producers told her she was good, not J.R. good and gave her

walking papers and as a result of this Ms. Somers went to Vegas
and did a cabaret act, became a spokeswoman for an exercise
product (the thigh master) and wrote a number of best selling books
on health, particularly women's health.
And one of these books, was all about her diet.

Ms. Somers became a big advocate of  fat., mainly eating more of it.
Not fat from cupcakes or milkshakes, but good fats like organic
butter, oils, (olive, avocado and coconut) nuts, and full-fat cheese.
Ms. Somers was ahead of her time as more doctors now tout the benefits of
good fats, and one of those experts- Dr. Mark Hyman also has
a book out on this very subject.

Ms. Somers- says that adding more fats and totally eliminating
carbs (white carbs) and sugar has helped her end her cravings for
cookies and cake, lose her muffin top, feel more
energetic, sleep better, boosted her sex drive and
her looks, by filling out her face and neck area,
and turn her her into a female "Benjamin Button"

Ms. Somers turns 70 in Oct.

So, if you're still convinced that adding more fat to your diet
will stop your heart and age your face and body, you need look no further

than Suzanne Somers, Sophia Loren, (over 80)
Selma Hayek, (Ms. Hayek is convinced
fat is the reason her breasts are still perky  at 49)  or the
millions of French women who've eaten like this for over a
century.

And if you need more information on how Ms. Somers relaxes,
experiences joy,  and banishes bloat, pick up her latest book "Miss-Toxic"
at bookstores or online at Amazon.com.
And one last tip: if you want to add more good fats like avocado,
flaxseed, or grapseed oils to your diet, but aren't sure how to use them,

head to Zazzle.com/Holistically, and purcahase the reusable grocery
bag you see below.  Buy one for yourself and one (or more) for friends, family and coworkers.

Good Luck!

Hollywood's Rxs For Getting Fit This Summer Pt. 2!

                        Get Fit on Land!

You may remember the post from last week.

You know, getting fit on or near the water.
Well, this post is also about getting fit,

and most of the exercises can be done at the park,
 the beach or hilly terrain.

Celebrity trainer Brett Hoebel, says these are the best
exercises to tone up your legs, rear end and upper arms.
First up, the waist-

a) The Waist-
Throw a frisbee. A frisbee to change your waist?

Yes, twisting from side to side engage the obliques--
muscles that cinch in the waist.
To get more benefits:
Step from side to side across the park or beach between throws.
This raises your heart rate to boost calorie burn while engaging

the hip flexors to slim the thighs.
b) Trim Those Upper Arms-
A problem area for a lot of women and if you love the beach,
make sure to bring along a volleyball.
Hitting the ball, serving, running and diving tone all areas,

but it's especially helpful to your arms.
To get more benefits:
Bend your knees and jump up each time you hit the ball. This
tones the glutes, thighs and hamstrings.
c) Be Like J Lo-
At 46, Ms. Lopez is still looking good and even though we don't

have proof, it may be the hills. As in walking up hills.
Walking -especially up hill engage more of the legs and glutes
and help you burn about 80% more calories than if you walked
on a straight path.
To get more benefits:

Pump your arms as you hike or use walking poles (Nordic poles)
this increases heart rate and calorie burn.
Fun Fact:  Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon really
love to walk, especially up and down hills.
d) Biking-
A favorite activity many stars enjoy and if a flatter belly is a goal,

then you must get that bike out. Riding a bike for 30 mins.
burns about 300 calories, plus keeping the bike balanced-
engage the deep abdominal muscles- helping you melt that
belly.
To get more benefits:
Go as fast as you can for 30 secs. and then rest for 60 to 90 secs.

Do this about 3 times to start and work your way up to 10 times.
This is called intermitten training and you'll really burn some calories.
Important tip:
If you haven't biked (or even walked hills) in quite some time,

it's best to go slow and not rush things.

Good Luck!

JGib~~
RedCarpetRxs!

One last tip:
If you decide to use one or more of the exercises
listed above, may sure to make a few dietary changes.
What changes? Switching out your butter, vegetable oil
and margarine and use avocado oil, flaxseed oil, rice bran

oil and grapeseed oil. Not sure how to use these
oils?
Look at the bag to the right, head to Zazzle.com/Holistically
and purchase one (or two) of these informative bags.
