do it on a regular basis and you'll have more than bad complexion problems.
d) Walnuts-
Although a little pricey, they can help you clear up those undereye circles
and the white flakes on your scalp known as dandruff.

Hollywood's Rx Just For Younger Women!

                Mammograms For Younger Women!

Ladies, remember when Good Morning co-host Amy Robach,
announced she had breast cancer? 

She was 40 and thought she was too young for a mammogram.
Well, Robin Roberts told her "put those fears aside and do it."
Ah, the wisdom of someone older, Robin Roberts was right,
new research says that women should be getting mammograms
in their late 30's and early 40's.

Why?
The earlier you have a mammogram, the better the medical 

professionals are able to catch a tumor at its smallest
and you may not need chemotherapy. 

And you may be wondering why women who look as healthy
as Ms. Robach are getting breast cancer.
Believe it or not, it's something you may be avoiding that's causing it.
What is that? No Sun or too little Sun,
Yup, women who live in California, Florida and Arizona have lower
rates of breast cancer than those who live in Mass. Ohio, Michigan
and Minn.

Researchers say that the vitamin D you get from the Sun, helps keep 

you breast cancer-free and if you're like Ms. Robach and working indoors 
most of the week, you're not getting any exposure to Sun.
So, what do you do?
You can move to Hollywood (not a possibility?) or you can get more D from
supplements (check with your Dr. on amounts) or you can eat

Nickelodeon's Rx For A Longer Life!

Want to live to a ripe old age?
Well, there are a number of things you can
do and one of those things comes from the T.V. network 

Nickelodeon. 
Not directly from the T.V. network, but from someone who's 
married to a bigwig at Nickelodeon.

Dan Schneider, who created "I Carly" "Drake and Josh" and
"Sam and Cat" is married to the woman who created the popular
dieting website-"Hungry Girl!"
Her name-- Lisa Lillien. And today on Dr. Oz, she unveiled another
book, a diet book "The Hungry Girl Diet" and in the book she
advises all of us to eat more mushrooms. 

Add cooked mushrooms to a smaller burger (eat less red meat) for  less calories
and use Portobellos as a pizza crust, it's gluten-free and you'll save
some calories as well.

And that's the point of this post- mushrooms are one of the foods everyone
should be eating if a longer life is a goal. Why?
* They help prevent cancer/

  Mushrooms help control extra estrogen in your system, which 
  helps block the growth of abnormal breast and ovarian cells.
* They help curb hunger pangs.
  Are you always hungry? Eat more mushrooms, especially

Talk Show Host's Rx For Perfect Health!

                       Drink More Tea Like Oprah! 

The rich get richer, as in Oprah Winfrey. 

That's right, Ms. Winfrey is teaming up with Starbucks
to sell Chai Tea.
The money made from the tea will go to Oprah's
school in South Africa.
Ms. Winfrey had the tea in India and fell in love with it,
and now Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz is going to sell that
tea at the coffee chain.

The people of Indian, China, Greece and France,
figured out long ago that adding certain herbs and spices
to tea or hot water can really enhance your health.
(especially if you don't want to get those benefits from fruits and vegetables)

If you want to save money and make your own Chai tea,
just add nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and cloves to a cup of
black or green tea.

(especially in the upper respiratory system) and ginger, reduce aches
and pain and improve circulation (no more cold feet and hands ladies).

to a cup of tea or hot water, leave the spices in  for 5 to 8 mins,
then remove them with a spoon and sip slowly.

The Today Show's Rx Just For Women!

Maria Shriver had a rough past 2 yrs. (remember Arnold and the maid?)

The Today show?

socialize with positive family and friends
volunteer
don't smoke (and if you do, try everything in your power to quit)
do crosswords (look up information on Google)
and drink tea.

The View's Rx For Future Moms!

                            Blood Types and Biological Clocks! 

If you caught Friday's edition of the T.V. show "The View"
then you're well aware the subject of biological clocks came up.
Sports analyst and new host of "Dancing With The Stars"
was a guest host and her biological clock was the one the women
were talking about.

Who was the woman?
Erin Andrews. Ms. Andrews, at age 35, told the women that she's
been dating a professional hockey player, but doesn't know if
the yr. long romance will lead to marriage, but she's hoping,
mainly because she wants to have kids before it's too late.
If you're in the same position as Ms. Andrews, you may want to ask your
Dr. about a test that'll tell you if you have enough healthy eggs
to conceive.

That's right- the type of blood you have can help medical professionals
determine if you'll have enough eggs, especially if you plan on waiting
to have kids.
The blood types: 

If you have type O blood, you'll run out of eggs earlier.
And if you have type AB blood or type A blood, you can wait a little longer.
So, if having a baby is of major importance, then you may want to
ask your Dr. about a blood test that measures your anti-mullerian
hormones, (AMH).
This test will give you an estimate of your remaining egg supply.

That's it- and if you are older or plan on having kids a little
later, some women are having success at conceiving at later
ages with a good, detox diet. 

One woman followed the diet tips from a Canadian woman
by the name of Tosca Reno, not to get pregnant, but to clean up her
diet and improve her health. Well, the results were beyond anything
she expected. The woman started experiencing stomach pains
and was convinced the new diet was the culprit, she went to have

Hollywood's Money Saving Tip For Your Favorite Beverage!

                         Just Say No To Starbucks! 
Stars are different in a lot of ways, but one way they're very
similar to the Average Joe and Jane...they love coffee.
Of course with their ginormous salaries a lot of them can afford
the $5, $10 or even $20 a day Java addiction.
But not you Jane in Lima Peru or Joe in Wichita Kansas,
spend that much on coffee 7 days a week and you'll surely
suffer some types of consequences.

So, what do you do?
Do you forgo your coffee habit, (hey a cup or two a day is good for you)
or do you continue reading and learn how to make your own lattes at home?

The following instructions on making your own Lattes at-home comes from
a former Barista and manager who worked at Starbucks for 5 yrs.
The Recipe:
a) Pick The Right Blend-
Use a full-flavored coffee like Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks espresso roast.
It will still taste bold when mixed with milk.
Important tip: Does your coffeemaker have a cone-shaped filter?
Your beans should be ground more finely.
b) Use The Right Ratio-
It's 2 Tbs. ground coffee for every 6 oz. cold filtered water. That'll yield
a robust brew that won't taste bitter.
Important tip: If you like your latte a little weak, brew it using the directions
you see above and then just dilute it with hot water.
c) Warm Up The Milk-
Microwave it just past boiling, about a min. checking at 15-second intervals
so it doesn't boil over.
Important tip: If you like a foamy top. use skim milk--its high-protein content
yields a frothier head.
d) Pour The Perfect Cup-
Slowly pour 3 oz. of milk into 3 oz. coffee (adjust for different sized cups).
Important tip: Like it sweet? Add sugar to the coffee before the milk, since it's 

the coffee that needs sweetening.
One last tip:
To keep your beans fresh, store them in an airtight container at
room temperature and not in the Fridge or freezer.
Storing them in the cold makes them moist and they won't taste
as good as a result.

The Stars' Secrets To A Great Body!

                     Bikini Ready For June!

With bathing suit season almost here, it's still not too late to 
get into some type of shape. If you think special equipment 
and time are something you really need to get into shape, 
you're wrong. 
Wrong? 
Yes, according to new research, a 5 to 10 min. exercise session 
two to three times a day is all you really need. 
And if you need to target a specific spot, follow the examples of 
some of your favorite stars. 
So, look below, find the body part you need help with and the stars 
solutions for fixing it.
1- The Waist.
Chisel your waist with a tip from a former "Days of Our Lives"star,

the exercise: Rebounding. You may know it as trampolining and the star 
who uses this form of exercise is Lisa Rinna. The 50 yr. old mom of 2, burns
more calories in 15 minutes than she would running for 30 mins. 

The continuous bouncing action engages the obliques (the muscles 
that wrap around the torso and pull in the waist) as your body 
works to stay balanced. Look for a mini-trampoline that's sturdy
and durable. 
2- Shoulders- 
Some women shy away from doing shoulder work for fear it 
may make them look like men. Ladies, the exercise you need to 
do will not require any weightlifting. 
The exercise: Jumping Rope. The childhood game  is a great way to
keep shoulders toned. And the star who loves this exercise is a "Housewife
From New York" aka Kelly Killoren Bensimon.
Often thought of as an aerobic exercise, this exercise requires that you 

hold onto the rope and that holding on is what builds up the shoulder muscles.
Buy a good quality jump rope and start with 30 secs. and move up to
a min. or two a day.
3- Stomach-
A problem area for a lot of women (and men) and to flatten it, you
may want to do the exercise that a "Hunger Games" star does.
What is the exercise? Kettle Bells And the star? Elizabeth Banks. 

The 40 yr. star loves to work out with kettlebells.
If you think weightlifting burns calories, kettlebelling burns about 

60% more. Swinging weights as opposed to lifting them provides
you with a momentum that works every muscle in your body. 

Plus, the swinging requires muscle control and that also helps 
develop muscle and burn calories.
Are you ready to give it a try?
Well, it's best you go to someone who's well versed in kettlbell
training or head to Youtube.com and type how to use Kettlebells
in the search bar. Doing it on your own may result in serious injuries.
4- A Tighter Bum-
In the U. K. it's called a bum and in the U.S. it's called a caboose,
junk, tailfeather, an apple, an onion, you get the idea.
Women are actually risking their lives and bank accounts to have
their rear ends plumped up, reshaped and tightened.
And the one star who doesn't want any part of the bigger and shapelier
rear is none other than Kelly Ripa.
During her first yr. of doing Live Regis and Kelly, she complained quite
a bit about her big rear and now she's gone (some say too far) to great lengths
to change it. Her exercise of choice: Jump Squats.
The explosive movements engages the lower body, especially all areas
of the rear end. And to make it more effective, raise your arms
while doing it. If a smaller rear end is something you want, make sure 

to warm up beforehand. Like kettlebells, doing jump squats without
warming up may cause serious injury.
To get started, Stand with feet hip-width apart and bend both knees to lower
into a squat. From the squat position, push off the balls of your feet into
a jump, straightening your legs in the air if you can. Finish up by landing
softly on the balls of your feet. Continue for 30 secs.

5) The Thighs-
Another problem area women complain about and to get them into shape, 

do the high knee exercises that the former Dancing With The Stars' host
uses. Brooke Burke-Charvet does this exercise a few times a week.
This is a high-energy move that gives you a long, lean look from your

hips to your toes. Doing this move requires your legs to move up rapidly
and that tones every muscle in the legs, including the calves, hamstrings,
quadriceps and the inner and outer thighs.
To do this exercise...Stand tall and quickly march in place, raising
your knees as high as you can. Do this for 30 to 60 secs.
And as you get stronger, do it longer and add a 2 lb. hand weight
(for each hand).

That's it- 5 exercises to get you the dream body you always wanted.

The Food Rxs For Hollywood Legs!

Are you ready to expose your legs? 

Well, it's that time of yr. again, and legs, bellies
and arms will certainly be on full display.
If your legs are a little jiggly, starting to sport varicose
veins and cramp up, don't ignore it and say "it's 

just age," no- continue reading and then head to your
supermarket and pick up the items that'll keep your 

legs in tip-top shape for yrs. to come.

a) Water Filled-
This means legs that retain water. Combat it- with
foods that are high in potassium, potatoes (the skins)
bananas, dried apricots, celery and raisins. Potassium helps
wash out the excess sodium in your body.
Another tip: these foods also help lower your blood pressure. 

b) Cellulite-
Although it's been said there is no is cure for the "cottage cheese" look
on the back of the legs, but what's the harm in trying to get rid of it?
Eat more antioxidant-rich foods like blueberries, strawberries,
papaya and green tea. Another tip: It's been reported that both Scarlett
Johansson and Megan Fox, have stopped eating dairy.
And Ms. Johansson says it has really made a difference in her legs.
She says "no more cellulite" after going dairy-free.

You may want to try it and see if it makes a difference in your legs.
c) Extra Jiggle-
To tighten up those thighs, you may have to go Atkins,
or Caveman or women (for the P.C. crowd) A diet of carbs
and sugary treats do more than harm your waistline, these types
of foods also cause loose  and jiggly skin allover.
d) Varicose Veins-
Catch them early and you may be able to do something about it,
and that is to eat a lot foods like oranges, kiwi, dark berries, plums.
kale, red and green peppers and zest.
Yes, grate some lemon,  lime
and orange peel into a smoothie or stir-fry.
The peels contain special compounds that help keep varicose
veins at bay, protect your skin from skin cancer and stop
constant dizziness.
d) Leg Cramps-
This is a problem for a lot of people, both men and women,
so eat more foods like wheat germ, spinach, apples,
Greek yogurt and black beans.
Another tip: have a bottle of tonic water an hr.
before going to bed.

a) Reba McEntire-
Ms. Reba has sworn off carbs, white carbs.

b) Sandra Bullock-
A typical meal for Ms. Bullock- a plate of brown rice,
some black beans and some steamed veggies on top.
c) Jessica Alba-
Ms. Alba hasn't cut out carbs entirely, what she has cut out...
processed foods. Sort of like Reba McEntire. She wants nothing 

but fresh and organic for her family.
d) Jennifer Aniston-
Jennifer Aniston's personal chef had to really convince her to eat
carbs. And she's taken his advice, and added brown rice, lentils
and Quinoa to her diet.
e) Paula Deen-
With all of the turmoil Ms. Deen has had to endure the past yr.
going to back to her old eating habits would be understandable.
But Ms. Deen has remained strong and stayed away from the carb
that really 
took a toll on her health, what carb was that? White Potatoes.

really noticed a difference in her health and appearance.

Downton Abbey's Green Rx!

                  The Tea Rx From England! 

Are you a fan of the English series "Downton Abbey?" 

It just aired its last episode and that's mean a long wait
for those of us who can't get enough of the hit series.

If you're a really a fan, then you know that tea plays
a big part in the show. Yes, we're talking about the beverage,
and it seems to be the beverage of choice for a lot of Brits.
But did you know that you can get benefits from tea by not
drinking it?

That's right--with the big "green" movement going on, you can
improve your skin and clean your house with a tea bag or two.
So, look below, and learn how the beverage of Great Britain,
can really help you in more ways than you think.
a) Razor Burns-
Spring is almost here and that means more bare legs,
and if nicks and cuts are a part of your shaving routine,
put an end to it. How?
Wet a tea bag and hold it against the spots you cut or nicked.
Tea has tannic acids and that acid helps lower inflammation.
b) Healthier Plants-
Before potting a plant, place tea bags on the drainage hole of the
planter. They'll help retain water and keep your plant full of life.
c) Mirror-Mirror-
Mirror, Mirror whose the dirtiest mirror of them all?
If you say it's my house, clean them the "green" way... with tea bags.
Brew some tea, make it strong and let it cool. Then get a cloth
(clean) or paper towels or newspaper and clean the mirrors throughout
the house. Finish up by wiping the mirrors down with a dry cloth.
d) Pots and Pans-
Does your sauce stick to the pan? How about beef stew?
If you want an easier method to help clean up those pots and
pans, allow a tea bag or two to assist you. 

Fill the pot or pan with some warm water, add some dish detergent,
(a tbs.) and then throw in 2 tea bags. Let sit for a few hrs. or overnight
and the stuck on food will be a cinch to clean up.
e) Odors In The Fridge-
That box of baking soda in the fridge doesn't work like it
used to at eliminating odors, that's okay, try the new method
of getting rid of the stench, what is it? Tea!
If you have tea everyday, hold onto the tea bags.
Collect about 6 and place them in a bowl or small container,
and then place this container in the back of the refrigerator. 

Leave for a few days and then remove them. Start saving those
tea bags again and repeat the process.
f) Youthful Skin-
Who doesn't want to look younger? (Kim Novak) Well, if dry and
aging skin is a concern, run a bath and throw in a few tea bags.
The tea helps hydrate the skin, leaving it dewy and soft.
Another tip: If you eat oranges, save the peels and toss them in with the
tea bags for some extra soft skin.

Food Network Star's Rx For Future Moms!

If you caught the Rachael Ray show today, then you'll remember she had on
 her favorite doctor, who was it?
Dr. Ian Smith!
They did an interesting segment on how to tackle health problems,
with food and not prescribed meds.

Some of the good Drs' suggestions: 

*Basil- End stomach discomfort and embarrassing gas.
* Raisins- Bring down blood pressure. Just make sure the raisins
  are eaten plain, and not in bread pudding or oatmeal raisin cookies,
  or your blood pressure won't budge a bit.
  Another tip: Go bananas. A woman who wanted to avoid bl. pressure
  meds, heard about bananas, she had 2 medium bananas a day and was
  able to avoid the meds.
 * Figs- The good doctor recommended figs for constipation.
  What the good doctor didn't mention was that some figs eaten throughout
  pregnancy can help women  produce more breast milk.

 That's right, ladies concerned about producing more breast milk
  should consider eating figs.
 And ladies, if that breast milk flows too freely, and you worry
  about breast milk leaking through blouses, ( Remember Kim K.)
  wrap breasts in cabbage leaves. 

  Yes, your eyes are reading it right. a cabbage leaf around each breast.
 And remove it  when you go back home.  Cabbage also ends breast pain.

Oscar Nominee's Rx For Flawless Skin!

This yrs. "it girl" seems to be Lupita Nyong'o.
She appeared in "Twelve Years A Slave" and seems to be
the only real threat to win the Academy award tonight.
She's been getting a lot of attention for her classy and beautiful
gowns, but one thing  about her has been overlooked, what is it?
Her incredible skin!

That's right, people were so focused on her incredible gowns, they
didn't even notice her skin, until now.
And if you want the secret to that incredible and flawless complexion,

But, before we reveal the secret, we must let you know it not's
all about the moisturizer she uses, some other things positives in her favor are...
her age--31. being that age, you'd expect incredible skin.
her color--having a  darker skin color gives you an advantage when it

Talk Show Host's Rx To Help Women Succeed!

                                     Ladies, Think Like A Man! 

Ladies, you may remember talk show and radio host Steve Harvey' s
monster best-selling book- "Act like a Lady and Think like a Man."
You may remember that Mr. Harvey was telling his female readers to hold
onto your principles and morals, but think like a man to get what you want out of the
relationship.
Well, there are now other books out there that say, don't just think like
a man in your relationships, do it while at home or when going for a job you want.
That's right- look below and learn how "thinking like a man" can really help
you in all areas of your life.
a) Accept Compliments-
Ladies, do you accept compliments well? Not just on your looks, but
compliments on your job performance or the things you do at home?
Men seek out and bask in praise, but women who are much more modest, 

usually respond with a denial or qualification. ("My house is well-kept, because
I'm frightened of germs). Stop it ladies, accept it, compliments are mood boosters
and by denying them you dilute the good effects. So, next time, just smile and say thanks.
b) One Thing At A Time-
Ladies, men who clean the out garage, only focus on the garage, whereas women may
also clean the garage, but have other things going on as well, like dinner on the stove.
Women are great at multitasking, and all of that multitasking is causing more stress.

So ladies, don't feel bad about not having three things happening at once.
Relax and watch your stress levels drop.
c) Pursue Those Dreams-
You helped the man in your life achieve his dreams, but what about you? 

Women are given the role of caretakers at young ages, ("make your brother
a snack, when you get home from school") and you play it (caretaker) right 

into adulthood. Try taking a baby step toward something you want to do,
chances are it will lead to another step, until you're on way to making your 

own dreams come true. 
d) Let Go and Relax-
Sort of like tip B, ladies some of you may go well into the evening,
planning menus, washing and drying clothes, etc. Not men, at 6:00 pm,
they're usually done for the night. So ladies, take a page out of the
Men's handbook and ask for some help (from hubby and the kids)
or let the stuff go for a day or two.
e) Ask and You Shall Receive-
Men are usually more direct when asking for something, women
ask but in a negative way. An example: "I hate when you don't
take out the garbage, when I ask."
New approach ladies, " I'm cleaning out the garage this weekend,
I'd love for you to give me a hand."
Asking this way, more often than not gets you a positive response.
f) Get To The Point-
When men talk, it's usually to convey info- the reason their commun-
ications are shorter and more to the point. And that ladies, is often the
best way to hold someone's attention. So ask yourself--"what are my 2 or 3
main points here?" And then bullet them out in your head, and stick to them.
