Hollywood's Latest Healthy Addiction!

                             Hollywood's Latest Fruit Addiction!

It seems every year or every two years there's a new craze sweeping Hollywood.
One year it was Pilates, another year it was juicing, and this yr. it's a
love affair with a fruit.

No, it's not blueberries, bananas or grapes, the fruit that a lot of Hollywood
stars can't get enough of is the Avocado.
Yes, it's a fruit and the stars who claim it's like a great boyfriend or crack, (Olivia Wilde)
are...Selena Gomez, Eden Sher, (of the T.V. show- "The Middle") Ellen, Oprah,
(both ladies grow them as well) Justin Long and Reese Witherspoon.

And if you're one who doesn't like to get addicted to anything, perhaps the

healthy benefits you'll get (from an avocado) will change your mind.
The benefits:
* Lower oral cancer rates by 45%. The fruit kills precancerous cells in the mouth.
* Lower cholesterol levels, In fact,  1/2 an avocado is way safer and cheaper
 than statin drugs.
* End Blue Mood and Mild Bouts of Depression.
One tip: you can't eat burgers, fries and slabs of cake and
then have some avocado hoping it will end the blue moods. It Won't.
* Block Too Much Estrogen- Women need this hormone, but get too

much, and you put on weight, (in the belly and upper arms,) and become  extremely unpleasant.
Lose that stubborn belly.
* Keep Bones healthy and strong, preventing bone loss later on in life.
* Keep The Retinas (in your eyes) in Tip-Top Shape.
* Improve Endurance- Run out gas by 5:00 pm?
Not anymore, add some avocado to your daily diet.
And one last benefit:
* Youthful skin for years. One woman received so many complements
after adding avocado to her diet, she quit her day job and literally started a spa that used avocados as facial and hair masks.

So, are you convinced? Ready to be more like Selena, Eden, Ellen
and Olivia?
Well, head to Google or Youtube.com and type Avocado dips, guacamole,
avocado smoothies, avocado facial masks in the search bar.
Concerned about the price? Head to a place like Aldis or Costco and
stock up. Allow them to get ripe, peel them and cut them up, add some
lemon juice and freeze in a plastic storage bag or glass or plastic
containers. Yes, they freeze well.
And one last tip...While at Google or Youtube, look for a
a chocolate dessert recipe using avocados. (Avocado Choc. Mousse)
It'll help you forget all about that fattening and heart damaging Choc. Ice cream.

Good Luck!

A Hollywood Couple's Baby Rx For New Hollywood Parents!

                More Benefits of Breastfeeding!

Congrats to new Hollywood parents Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
They're the proud parents of a boy or a girl, (they haven't revealed the sex yet)
And if they're (or she) is on the fence about breastfeeding, they should take
advice from a Hollywood couple that has a one yr. old.

The couple with the one yr. old: Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde.
You may remember the uproar Ms. Wilde caused when she was photographed
breastfeeding son Otis.
Well, Ms. Wilde says she'll continue to do it, and not worry about the negative
Nellies and the haters.
And if Blake and Ryan haven't decided on their choice of nourishing their little one,
they may want to follow Olivia and do the same.

Why?
New research says that breastfeeding may help kids in terms of weight management,
fewer allergies, normal blood pressure, avoid diabetes, stronger bones,
a better brain and the new discovery, it (B.F.) can cut your child's risk of developing asthma.
Babies who are just fed via the breasts during their first 4 months are 35% less
likely to develop asthma by their 8th birthday.

So, if you're a new mom or plan on giving birth in the not-to-distant future,
hold onto to this post.
And lastly, if you do breastfeed for 4 months or 1 yr. and then go off the rails,

diet-wise, (white foods, fried foods, starchy foods, processed foods and sugary drinks)
it's highly likely your child will get more than asthma.

Good Luck!

A Funny Lady's Rx For Maintaining Weight!

                        The Seinfeld Rx!
Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been around for quite a while.
Now in her early 50's, she looks better than ever.
She was on Saturday Night Live, Seinfeld, Day By Day, The New Adventures of
Old Christine and at this present time, she's starring in Veep.

Like a lot of stars Ms. Louis-Dreyfus has to watch her weight.
Not only because she's 5' 1" tall, but to make sure Hollywood continues to
offer her leading lady roles.
And if you too, struggle with weight, do like Ms. Louis-Dreyfus and
start eating breakfast.

That's right, no starvation diets, no hours doing Pilates, just a
plain, old-fashioned breakfast.
And her breakfast of choice:

Eggs, fried in a little olive oil , a slice of whole-grain bread smeared with some
honey.
Ms. Louis-Dreyfus said that a few yrs. ago, she was a breakfast skipper,

but decided to start eating it after hearing about the benefits.
One benefit in particular--she doesn't snack mindlessly (and endlessly)
at 1 or 2 in the afternoon and continue doing it right up until 6 or 7 pm.

No, she says that a good-quality and filling breakfast has put an end to
that.

So, if you're struggling with cravings and snacking on fattening
and forbidden foods well into the evening hrs. take a page out
of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus handbook and start eating breakfast.
And lastly, if you're not an egg and turkey bacon kind of gal,
there are always fruit and veggie smoothies, gluten-free
pancakes, bowls of steel cut oatmeal, mushrooms and veggies

and brown rice with cinnamon, allspice, and some low-glycemic
fruits, (apples, pears and berries).

Good Luck!
