Hollywood's Rx For Saving The Environment!

                            Natural Rxs For The Environment!

Hollywood stars have been doing their part to save the environment and
find suitable replacements to products like laundry detergent, drain cleaners,
and fabric softeners.
Stars like Leonardo DiCaprio,  Ed Begley Jr. Jamie Lee Curtis,
Ryan Gosling and Jessica Alba (who's creating her own
line of "natural"products)  are all doing their part to
help us and if you want to do your part, look below to get
started on doing without the dangerous chemicals.
1) Drain Cleaner-
Using a commercial drain cleaner on a regular basis,
not only ruin your drain pipes, your wallet and your health as well.
To make your own alternative-do the following...

Combine one cup baking soda and pour it down the drain.
Then pour down 2 quarts of boiling water, wait about 30 min.
and then finish up with some cool water.
2) Shaving Cream-
If the ingredients on your can of shaving cream, reads like
chemistry book, it's time to toss it out. The suitable replacement:
Hair Conditioner. Shaving cream creates the same foaming action
and it leaves behind some moisturizers as well.

3) Oven Cleaner-
Like drain cleaners, breathing in the fumes of oven cleaner over time
can do incredible damage to your health. A suitable replacement:
Baking soda. Heat the oven up for a min. or two and then pour on a little

baking soda and a small amount of hot water. Let it sit on the stains and spills
and then scrub (with a scouring pad) and then wipe down the oven with a cloth.
4) Stains-
Do you use a product like Shout? Well, if you run out or want to save money,

use some baby shampoo. Just apply directly to the stain before washing.
And yes, it it works for handwashables as well. Add a few drops of baby shampoo
to things like sweaters, bras and nylons.
5) Squeaky Doors-
Your old reliable can of  WD40 works perfectly, only problem- breathing in the
fumes yr. after yr. New suitable replacement: Petroleum Jelly aka Vaseline.
Put some on door hinges, or the inside of your oven doors. Vaseline is more suitable
than say--vegetable or olive oil, both of which can spill and leave big messes.
6) Fabric Softener-
Who doesn't love the smell of a fabric softener? Believe it or not, they (fabric softeners)
can build up on clothes, and even shorten the life of your clothes and linens.
The suitable replacement: Vinegar! The liquid that has 101 uses, can help get your
clothes softer and even cleaner. Just pour 1/4 cup in during the final rinse.

That's it- And remember, that although you may never feel like a star,
you can protect and save the environment like them.

Good Luck!
