The Animal Planet's Rxs For Better Health!

                      Watch The Puppy Bowl!

This Sunday will be the 48th Superbowl for most
of the World, and for those who don't give a hoot--
there's "The Puppy Bowl."

Yes, you know that annual cute-fest of puppies on
the Animal Planet channel.
If you are a fan and think you're only looking at
cute puppies, you're wrong.

Wrong?
That's right- looking at, playing with or caring for
puppies (or kittens) can do a number of things to boost
your health. Things like...

a) Boost Memory-
Need to memorize something?
Look at a pet or two frolicking and then memorize your
school work or a project from work.
b) Control Pain-

Again, looking at pets playing or getting involved
with the playing yourself, helps ease the pain you may be feeling.
Looking at pets playing helps take your mind off of the pain you may
be going through.
c) Lower Anxiety Levels-
Just like helping to ease aches and pain, people who work,
play or walk animals report lower anxiety levels.
Again, animals help take your mind off of your problems.
d) Heart Health-
Cut heart attack risk by 35% by having a pet around.

Dogs help lower stress levels and if you walk them
a few times a week, that also keeps your heart in

tip-top shape.
e) Kids and Allergies-
Concerned about kids and allergies?
You may want to think about getting a pet.
Early exposure to pet dander helps prevent
the immune system from overreacting to the potential

allergens later on down the road.

That's it- 5 tips on why you must get involved
with pets. And one thing--a lot of the pets you'll see
on "The Puppy Bowl" are up for adoption.

Good Luck!
