GMA's NonSweet Rx For Better Health!

                Going Sugarless!
If you caught this morning's edition of "Good Morning America"
then yousaw weekend anchor Dan Harris and Katie Couric.

Mr. Harris interviewed Katie about her new documentary--"Fed Up!"
What's it about?

How our (America's) love affair with sugar is causing more than big waistlines.
And it's just not warning about the harmful effects of sugar,
but how it's everywhere--salad dressing, soy sauce, tomato
sauce and unsweetened juices.

The documentary asks you (the viewer) to give up sugar
for 10 days. If you were asked, could you give it up?
Well, Mr. Harris took Katie up on the challenge and
didn't have a sweet treat for 10 days.
Mr. Harris revealed that he doesn't smoke, or drink,

and eats plenty of fruits and vegetables, his only
vice: Sweets.
Mr. Harris also revealed that he likes a piece of cake
or some cookies before bed, and that going without
for ten days was difficult.

Well, Mr. Harris survived and reported that he slept a whole
lot better. And when the 10 days were up, he searched his house
and found some Swedish Fish. (candy).
As for Katie who took the 10 day challenge, she reported losing
some fat in her stomach and waking up earlier, feeling refreshed
and raring to go.
Sugar like wheat, is one food that Hollywood always seems to be
eliminating at some point and time.

Could you do it?
If you want to try, watch more of Dan Harris and his abstaining from
sugar, on tonight's edition of Nightline. Or watch Katie Couric's
full documentary --"Fed Up!"
And if you try it, you'll be in good company, some other celebrities
who've tried it for 10 days and one who did it permanently.

The star who did it for ten days--Jenny McCarthy of The View.
After the 10 days, she reported that her joints stopped aching.
Consider sugar a food that can inflame your joints, arms, feet,
back, knees and your heart and brain.

And the star who did it (gave up sugar permanently): Jack Lalanne.
Jack Lalanne- many of you may remember his juicers or exercise
studios and at 15, he went after his brother with an axe.
Asking for and looking for a change, Jack attended a health seminar
in his hometown,
the subject: the dangers of white foods, too much meat and sugar.
After hearing that lecture, Mr. Lalanne changed his diet (at 15,

no more burgers, fries and milkshakes) and the rest is history.
One more story about Jack Lalanne. He opened up his first exercise
studio in Southern California, and one of his first pupils' was a man

who would go on to become "Dirty Harry"
That's right, Clint Eastwood, also changed his diet (at 19) and followed Jack's
workout and diet advice and today, he's still directing movies and acting.
His age: 84 in about 9 days.

And one more thing about GMA, the hosts talked
about a new type of female Viagra being tested.
Ladies, don't waste time looking for the female Viagra,
just head to your supermarket and pick up fresh
and frozen fruit, eat 2 small bowls a day along with 2 small
meals of chicken, lean beef, or salmon, along with stir-fried
or steamed veggies and some brown rice (or quinoa).
And if that's not enough, and you're willing to spend
about $2, head to Amazon.com.the kindle store and download

a copy of Libido Boosters For Women.
In it, you'll find foods (like specific fruits), vitamins and supplements
that'll work better than any untested and not yet available
"Female Viagra."

Good Luck!
